What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?

Ram air scoops. Put in DRL’s but awaiting some advice on wiring. Also, put on the proper clamps on my thermal exhaust. They sent it to me with a clamp that was only about 1” wide so the shop had to weld the mid pipe and muffler section to the clamp since it wouldn’t hold. Backed her up on some race ramps I ordered (nice high lift), cut the welds with a dremel, and put on the proper clamps, that are about 4” long.

I'd actually prefer if my axleback and mid-pipe were welded together. Why did you cut the weld in favor of the clamps?

They weren't actually welded together, as they don't touch, about a 1/4" gap. The clamp that came with it originally wasn't wide enough to keep both ends together. So they did two spot welds on each side. I just didn't trust that to hold long term.

Technical issues aside, I’m a little worried about your choice of colour. Red makes you go faster and if this is a peter heater you don’t want to be “going” any faster than you have to.

I’m a little worried about the length of your finger nails too, just quietly.
Oooops, “Busted”

They look really good, nice job you’ve done there.....
Thanks, I’ve been sitting on the fence re making the change for a while. It’s taken nearly 6 months of having the car to do it but I think it looks a lot better than the original Kia badges. The only thing on the car now that says Kia is the tag on the dash mat which actually sits on top of it so it’s visible from the cab or through the window. Not trying to hide what it is, I just think the original Kia badges are ugly and don’t do the car justice. From the pics on this forum it appears most owners think the same

Yep same as me only the dash mat that has KIA. Did you follow the DIY instructions from the forum to fit the Stinger script? I did and it was invaluable. I used this stuff from Bunnings to remove the Goo and D/s tape worked like magic.20180831_200342.webp

No didn’t even think to look at it to be honest. I did a little Q&A with @Stinger GT SS and I had a quick look at the YouTube video from Stinger GT & Me, and winged it to a degree. My neighbour helped me, he’s a smash repairer so I let him take the old badges off. I got stuck with glue removal duty. A lot of rubbing with thumb and finger, feels like I’ve got no prints left now lol. Ended up using a bit of mineral turps on a rag to soften it and it came off a lot easier, didn’t affect the paint. I left it out in the sun all day to soften them a little bit. Downside is the sunburn I’ve got now. In hindsight I should’ve moved it into the garage once the badge was off.

Although I have the "K" on hood and hatch lid, I did not actually remove KIA; and I don't think that KIA is ugly. It's bold. The "K"s are skins from Sal, not really badges: I do not want to remove the original badges. The reason why I have a "K" front and rear is to enjoy messing with people while the Stinger is still new and many/most don't know what it is yet. And I've left the KIA badges on the hubcaps and steering wheel. Eventually, I will take the "K" skins off the front and rear badges.
