I am just making sure at this stage I have the right material for the engine bay area
|and also give it a week or so of driving to make sure about posting details if any are interested and for me to go yey or ney!

Washed her, waxed her with chemical guys butter wet wax, then topped off with chemical guys V07 detailer spray, all sparkly now. 4 hour detail, im buggered.

I used Butter wet Wax then Synthetic Quickdetailer from Chemical guys.

Thanks for the info on products, i used them on my car and it came up brilliant.

I had Dave's Body Shop's PPF guy (Kerry) over this morning to put on the two little triangular patches under the brake scoops: it was an oversight in the original job a couple of weeks ago. It was like watching a "plastic surgeon" at work. He joked about originally studying to be a plastic surgeon; which focused attention on just how good he is at this. When I asked about my mirrors, he said that he doesn't put PPF on dark chrome surfaces because the chrome overlay might wrinkle if, for any reason, the PPF had to be taken off.

An interesting factoid (and he had a nonstop stream of them, talking as he worked): our bumper is the third largest he's ever done. I wish I had written down what he said, but iirc a Ferrari and some other luxury sports car have larger bumpers by a couple of feet; I think he said the Stinger's is over nine feet, and he was impressed by that bigness (he also said how wide they are, but I don't recall those numbers at all; just that the Stinger's width was also the third largest he's done PPF on; we do not have a small car! ). He is a PPF guy, after all.

The dealer said I was OCD with cars and I agreed lol. I must say its therapy or relaxation as you forget all the crap going on around you and I get totally immersed in the detailing of my car. I wanted a very wet glossy look and i think i achieved that. Wax on, wax off....
