What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?

Thanks...

Last Wednesday gave her the 21k oil change, and got the endoscope near the oil feed line. No issues there.

Well what did I do to my Stinger today?.......I was driving this morning and went to clean my windshield and nothing happened. I tried again....nothing. I could hear the pump but no fluid coming out. I thought maybe I was out of fluid. I filled it....still nothing.

As I was lamenting the possibility of a dreaded dealership visit I remembered a post on here......THE RECALL!!!!!
Someone had mentioned that they didn't connect their washer fluid to the nozzles (among other things) when they did their recall. looked under the hood and after some searching I found a hose that had not been connected!

I had other issues with the recall work so I am not totally shocked....but reaffirmed my previous decision that this car is my last Kia due to dealer incompetence...all three that I have tried to deal with. Love the car but hate too many other things about the ownership.

Well, we are getting our first snowfall of the year up here (in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada), and my Stinger is safely tucked away in the garage.
I did the same last year, but there were enough dry days that I was able to start and drive the car during the winter to keep it lubed and charged.
Reason for posting this is, I was wondering what opinions you have about letting the car sit for weeks at a time during the winter.
Should I be doing something with it, or is enough to just start and move it every chance I get?
Winters are unpredictable of course, so I can't say for certain how long it might sit at any one time without it being run.
Cheers.

If I had a car that sat for weeks, I'd sell that car. Drive the darned thing, it's a snow beast, for a sedan.

Not a chance I sell it.
I have a 2016 Lexus RX350 for my daily driver.
My Stinger doesn't see the light of day if it's not sunny. I've never even driven it in the rain.
I've had it for about a year and a half and it has 3,600 Kms on it. That's about 2,200 miles.
I bought it as my retirement toy. Always wanted one since they were introduced in 2018.
I didn't buy it as an investment either, but checking prices on-line recently tells me it hasn't lost any value, so that's a plus.
I have some more mods in mind for next spring as well.
So, I'm guessing you have no useful tips for storing it then?

Weeks.......how bout 5 months? Put the Lightning away today, I'll be lucky to have it out by May of next year.

Besides that, I put the snow tires/wheels on today. I do like the look of these better than the stock wheels, I'd like em better if they came in 19s. Unfortunately no more spirited driving until spring I guess with the snow tires on, so sad :(

Not from experience. As my post indicated, I've never stored a car in my life. It is an alien concept. But, if I were to do it, I'd make sure it got driven as you already do to keep it viable. Failing that, the trickle charger method, and move it enough to keep the tires from flat spotting. In fact, if it is being stored without moving for weeks into months, why not put it on jacks? I feel strange even discussing this. Hah.

I've stored my truck every year since I've owned it, which is 7.

Never once drained fluids, never once put it up on jack stands. I pull out the battery put it on a battery tender when I get around to it. I clean out the interior, fill up the tank 95% or so, put in Stabil fuel stabilizer, overfill the tires, spray peppermint spray all over the carpet, glove box, under the hood, spray peppermint spray on steel wool and stick that in the massive exhaust tips. I usually get this strong smelling mice repellent spray from the hardware store, spray that all around the garage and specifically around the truck.

Truck starts up in the spring like it was running all year. Never once had an issue. If I was really concerned about the tires I might put it up on jack stands but the truck likes to eat tires, too many burnouts I guess ;)

I was always told to add the stabilizer to a near empty fuel tank and then to fill 'er up, and being sure to drive a bit to get it through the fuel system.

To Buzz: If you are gonna let it sit, let it sit. It's not gonna hurt anything. If you want to drive/move it, drive it long enough to get it up to temperature. Turning it on just for the sake of running it, is doing more harm to the oil/engine than just leaving it be.

If you want to keep the battery charged, pull it and charge it inside.

I just follow the directions on the bottle, fill the tank mostly full, then add the fuel stabilizer, then let it run for a few minutes to go through the system. I do that right before it's parked. That's how I've done it for years with no issues.

I've always pulled the battery and charged it inside as well. I usually just don't bother hooking it up right away. May not even bother this year as I want to get an optima red top for it next year.

Put the interior back in and wheels and exh back on it and she is back to the GT Tourer spec like it should be and will be for the forceeable future.
She is doing duty as a funeral vehicle tomorrow.
I'm only home 5 day's a month to drive it, so hopefully after this last detail i have given VADER above and underneath, it should be brand new well into next year.

Peace.

Nice. Curious why your LF tire wall has those two red "splashes" and none of your other tires have that?

i can't imagine having to put the stinger away for months

Here in Minnesota the roads are covered in heavy salt and other horrible metal eating chemicals from the first snowfall until spring basically. That C5 would look like a piece of Swiss cheese here.

What are you talking about?

Edit: Cant be f&*%ed explaining

If you zoom in close and look at the grille around the tips of the "tiger teeth" you can see it is cracked all to hell. I didn't even notice this until a couple of hours ago washing my car by hand, a full wash for the first time since the incident that clobbered the underside of the bumper cover - which I touched up the next morning when I noticed the missing paint - the "incident" popped off the pop rivets on the right side around the brake vent inside the wheel well, and scraped up my undercarriage bumper cover panel. But at least no mechanical damage was done - all cosmetic. I tried pushing the cracked grille back into place, but pieces of it are missing too. Grrr.

Ordered a replacement from kia.parts, for c. $190 including shipping. Was pleasantly surprised at the discounted grille, only $161 instead MSRP price of $235. Should get here middle of December.

Now that I am parking it up for a few years and back in an AMG.

I found an absolute ripper of a car cover for it...
