What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?

Welcome to the club!! I would leave it for the moment but get a fine nail file and carefully go over the sharp edges and it won't look so bad. A couple of months ago I stumbled across a wheel repairer when I was looking for something else and we chatted for over 30min. Almost half his work comes from dissatisfied customers who have used mobile repairers. Typically they just grind and polish the damaged area usually leaving a depression. Some will claim to "fill" the depression but the end result is far from perfect. He claims the only way to do a proper repair is on a lathe by taking a fine layer off the entire rim and then repainting the entire wheel. I saw some examples from mobile guys and the work was really crappy. His price is around $300-$350 per wheel.

Agree. Wait on it. Sh!t gonna happen. Won’t the last time. Only you will notice.

Once you have a few more issues (pot holes, more rash, etc)... get them all done (maybe painted black!!).

I put a dent in my alloy wheel too on Tuesday. You should have heard me when I got out to have a look ....I put the wharfies to shame with what words came out of my mouth! Lol. Was coming out of Penrith Plaza carpark and hit the bloody concrete step that separates the two lanes. I didn't even know it was there! I found out the hard way. Have contacted a mobile wheel repairer and they quoted $160 to repair it, but I think I might wait until after Christmas. If I jumped up and got things repaired every time there was a small chip or dent I would be a nervous wreck!
Ouch, that’s no good but I know what you mean about car parks, they feel like they get narrower since I got the Stinger but I know it’s no wider than my old Commodore. I’ve given up trying to judge and just drive through car parks with the 360° camera on. Has worked so far but I know it’s only a matter of time. I’m more worried about snagging the concrete block under the front end when I park. I hate those things, snagged a few in the old car and nearly pulled the front spoiler/bumper off reversing back off it hopefully that doesn’t happen in the Stinger. Would be more of an issue if I fitted the front spoiler though

Holy crap that's expensive just for a tiny dent. But yeah I was hesitant about the mobile guys. Cheers Shannon.

I am the high sovereign of curb rashing. No less than five times (none with the rears though). Words come out in a veritable stream each time but words fail. At home, each time, I have applied this method: 200 grit then 400 grit sandpaper till everything is smoothed down. Then 2000 wet/dry until the alloy is shiny again. Walk away. Come back and see what shows at five or six feet away. Looks pretty good! Perhaps I will let the "Wheel Werks" guys to finish up the job properly (minimum is $125 and a full day; and goes up from there: the GT rims are $650 a piece, so it wouldn't take much before I'd pay the difference and simply order brand new). But so far, the shiny from the 2000 wet/dry hasn't dulled out; the damage is minor looking and unless you know it is there you probably would never see it. (This was half a year ago, btw.)

M&S "S" type black gloss spoiler now affixed. Can supply photo but car is very dusty. I'm just worried the clean Police might judge me. Hint any "pilots" out there? :D:D:D:D.

Just put the pics up, then when you wash it later you’ll have an excuse to post more :D

Got the 200 and 400 grit but the finest they went up to was 1200. Will try that.

Be careful, the surface will discolour to grey. If you can get some clear coat and brush it on it will look a bit better (or try clear nail polish).

I'm just going to leave it how it is. Bugger the mucking around to possibly make things worse
