What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?

It's actually not bad. I ended up taking it apart twice because I thought it wasn't working, but realized it wont work unless the door was closed. The second time I took it apart, took me maybe 15 minutes. I can do it in my sleep now.

I just picked up "The Babe" from Ceramic Pro coating. I have been without her for almost a week now, driving my 2015 KIA Rio... Ohhhh how I missed my Stinger.

Like @Falaris I choose Details by Frank, opting for the 5 Year Ceramic Pro Silver package. Frank did an outstanding job and I could not be happier. I am just ecstatic to have my babe back home. :)

Loved it! Blue is gorgeous on this car.

I put "NAV" into her first car show. Seriously, I didn't even see this coming; forgot that it was scheduled at the assisted living community that my 92 year-old mother lives at, called Pacifica (in Millcreek). The attendance wasn't bad. I asked the DJ, who was in charge of the show, what it took to enter a car and he said, "You drive in, park and register. What have you got?" I pointed across the street. "Stinger". He told me to go fetch it. I stayed for the whole show, which was about three and a half hours long.

That's my aged mother, and we were saying goodbye to her favorite helper, who is moving to Las Vegas tomorrow.

Here's a link to the folder with all the pics and three videos. Dropbox - car show at pacifica - Simplify your life

This car show is an annual thing, put on by Pacifica to raise money for the battle against Alzheimer's. I think the show took in over $5,200. I "won" a raffle item, but didn't collect: as the video indicates, I had to check my ticket. And a funny thing happened: while I was making the video, my mother gathered up the tickets off the table cloth and put them in her hand. And when I came back to produce ticket "255", the tickets were nowhere to be seen. My mother should have gone into sleight of hand: because nobody at the table saw her do a thing. It was only many minutes later that a friend sitting on the other side of my mother noticed her holding something and found the tickets. Gone was my chance to be a "winnah!" :p

Oh yeah, I did get a door prize, in appropriate colors, because NAV is a She.

IMG_0082.webp 1st oil change...bolts holding the plastic covers were rusted...I'd presume they all will....best to get them replaced with stainless steel.......there are 11 of them for the base model......some different length's but all 1 inch long bolts will fit...I replaced mine with neverseize til I get around to it....I hate rust.

The wife was having a snooze on the lounge so I thought I’ll go downstairs and start installing some goodies that Sal sent me. That way I’m out of the road not making any noise and she can have a kip in peace. Go downstairs, put on GT decal, sweet. Put on Stinger steering wheel insert, position it, press hard. Totally forgot horn is behind there. Result one loud long horn blast from driveway directly below where wife is (was) snoozing. Result? Well you can guess. Does anyone know if the seats fold down enough to fit a sleeping bag in there? I’m about 6 foot.

Steering wheel one is a bit wonky but I’ll live with it. Still got a few more to do but there’s a storm coming so the rest might be a job for tomorrow. Oh, I mean an actual storm, not the one that just erupted in my lounge room.

lol thats seriously funny

That's strange. My last oil change was at 11,500 miles and I had no rust. My bolts are black, looks like yours are (supposed to be) silver? Those look like they came off of a 20 year old car.

Scary! Yes, an old car's bolts; those are NOT one year or less old!? What gives?

How easy was it to do?

I did mine in July and it was not too bad. I followed the install video and the only issue I had was the front of the console cover pulled up the "R N D" cover under the shifter when I lifted it up. In the video stayed connected to the shifter mount but mine stayed with the console cover and separated. No damage just had to get it to come off the top and put it back down onto the shifter before I could continue. That step was a little bit of a PITA since it was under the top piece and the shifter handle while trying to separate it.

Sorry I never got a pic up here but wanted to throw in my experience.

Yeah had the same issue with mine. I had to snap it back in and try again this time holding the plastic as I lift up so it wont come up. After I got the shifter out I heard rattle and thought I broke something. Turns out it was the override switch cover that fell inside. So I ended up prying the plastic cover anyway to get it out. All was good, nothing broken but took extra time to do the install.
