What Dash cam do you use for your stinger?

Just saw a recent post from a user here of an accident they got in and they were glad they had dash cams, and it reminded me i still need to get one. What do you all recommend or use? Looking for something that doesn't obstruct my view too much and preferably one with a front and rear camera and good quality video.

I'm using a Rexing V1 that I had wired and mounted in my previous vehicle (Ford Truck). It's a basic Chinese clone of the popular A129 variant of cameras. It's pretty cheap and bulky, but gets the job done (1080 @ 30fps). I have it mounted low, in the center of the windshield, sort of behind the touchscreen so it doesn't really hinder my line of sight.

@nhcowboy28 has a pretty nice set up with some low profile cameras front and back.

I'd like to upgrade and add a rear camera to mine. Really curious to see if the people behind me are always stopping 2 inches from the bumper or if it's just the perspective from the driver seat over the short hatch.

Thinkware 800Pro for me. Hard wired to fuse box and installed front and back. It's held up pretty well over the hot summer here in Texas.

I have a DOD LS360W. It's a few years old but still works well in day and night @ 1080P. Of course since I finally installed it, nothing exciting has happened on it other than me blasting my horn at people making left hand turns WAY after the light says to stop dong so. That's only going to get worse once the snow flies, this city is a joke for drivers lol.

You can hit the Stingers camera function button at any time to start the cars built in camera and see what’s going on behind you.. I do it to see if people are tailgating me and if I need to.. educate.. them on giving me a bit more space

TBH they always look like they’re closer from the mirror view than the camera view - the guide lines come up on the camera too so you know the relative depth.

It was hardwired into my fuse box and thing issues i have it they ran the wires though my mirror. so now I think my LKA is not working properly everytime i make a lane change i hear a click click

I got the Akaso V1 dashcam as a birthday present and I loved it, but it a) doesn't take memory cards larger than 32GB, and b) I had to stop using it as it would no longer detect even the 16GB memory card it came with and stopped recording. They did send me a replacement free of charge, but by then I had already switched to the Viofo A119 and it's been great so far. Much bigger than the Akaso V1, but the video quality is great, and I've mounted it to the right of the mirror so it's not in my view. It's a bit awkward to control where it is, but I don't often have to do that.

I was considering a rear dashcam, but I'm not sure how I would wire it, or where I would even mount it. I might put the replacement dashcam in the rear if I can figure out the routing, the front one was relatively simple, if not easy. took about 15mins and I only had to pry loose the A-pillar covering to get from the headliner down to the dash, and then to the fusebox. Routing from the rear seems like it would be more involved.

The most difficult bit for the rear us removing the plastic panel on the hatch to route the wire through the grommet. 2 if the retaining clips snapped off when I did mine. I glued them and it seems pretty solid back in place but don’t think it will stand another removal if/when I decide to change.

I have the 360 system, hitting the camera button on the center console only turns the cameras on if speed is below 5mph. Does it work differently when you only have a backup camera or is there a different mode I'm unaware of?
