3.3TT Wagner Tuning intercooler

Seems like there are fitment issues with this intercooler on the American Stingers.

Because is the truth....lol

Read this thred
3.3TT - Wagner Intercooler Installedad.

I also know a local Stinger owner that bought it and is in the middle a return/refund with the vendor he bought it from. I know this because I helped him install it.

Looks like that’s correct, there were some minor fitment issues, nothing that prevented the intercooler from being installed. The person that made the thread above that was just linked here, also commented this yesterday:

“Got a call from Wagner today just calling about impressions and feedback on the IC.

I greatly appreciated the call, and while I forgot the name of the gentleman I was speaking with, I could tell he was attentively listening and taking notes. He apologized for the inconvenience during the install and did say that Wagner hopes to do some R&D stateside to prevent issues where UK and Korean vehicles are primarily used for development, but the USDM vehicles may have differences. I made sure I told him that the inconveniences were minor and didn’t prevent me from installing the product, or didn’t hinder the end result.

We spoke about everything from the instructions, to silicone couplers, fitment, installation, time, value, and effectiveness. The call lasted nearly 30 minutes.

At the end of the call he found this thread and was walking through some of the issues I pointed out.

I could still Wagner is gathering customer feedback and impressions to improve their product, and that’s a good sign.”

I’m a bit sad to see that there were some minor fitment issues, but happy to hear that they are already looking into what those are and addressing them.

I'd like to add that what constitutes minor for me could be perceived as major for someone else.

For example, if I didn't own a standard rivnut setter and another car to make Home Depot runs there could've been issues. While the installation manual states you need a metric rivnut setter, the rivnuts were cross threaded so I didn't need the metric rivnut setter.

Also, when it comes to removing those cross threaded metric rivnuts, I have an angle grinder, which makes it quick work. If someone used a drill and even slightly slipped, they would damage the intercooler, I wonder which vendor loves taking $1100 returns on damaged goods?

Having the right tools helped immensely, but if this was someone's only vehicle and let's say they had to work the next day so they're under pressure to get this done, I could see how things could go from minor to major.

Also just in terms of function, it does somewhat suck not to be able to use the lower air baffle. I would assume Wagner created it for a reason so couple that with the pre-production air duct fiasco, I can see why someone would want a refund/adjustment.

I'm happy with my purchase but i'm just providing context. Hopefully the issues will be worked out soon and we can leave the caveats behind.

Agree thank you for a great honest review and you are lucky you had a spare car and the tools/skills necessary....

When I helped a colleague his Stinger is his only car and he didn't have standard rivnut setter, drill and it was like 11:00 pm so no open home depot.

Hence the reason we put the stock intercooler back on and he shipped back to the vendor. The vendor was refusing to refund, but he finally refunded, but kept a 20% restocking fee which was bolony.

He went ahead and ordered an Agency power intercooler on Ebay for $520 brand new. Saved $550 bucks and no issues installing/fitment and he is getting great performance out of it.

He is using the $550 bucks he saved to get a WMI kit.

Angel can you stop advertising other products in this thread? You already said it like 5 times...
We all know that there are cheaper alternatives, there always are.

I am simply sharing my opinion on an actual experience. I am not telling people to go buy an AP intercooler.

I am not a vendor, I dont sell intercooler or own one. I use to own a UP intercooler, but went back to stock. If you own a wagner intercooler and it fit great on your car then that is great for you. That is not the case for USA Stingers.

I agree, and his condescending way of quoting the letters in bold to attempt to antagonize was also not necessary. We are all aware of the different options out there, and whether or not he is a vendor or not, there’s no need to continuously keep mentioning other options as if we all don’t already know that there are other options out there.

You keep repeating the price of the AP intercooler and how buying this cheaper product you can save money to buy a nice dinner to your wife or some legos for your kids..

Hey I took the bold idea from you.

How convenient to bold this part out of his whole statement right?
I made sure I told him that the inconveniences were minor and didn’t prevent me from installing the product, or didn’t hinder the end result.

People should be informed, especially those that are thinking of buying in the USA. Again I have no incentive to sell or not sell, I just call it how I see it. My apologies if you took my comments a negative way.

I repeat the price difference because its a fact that you can save money.

I don't buy my wife nice dinner, we eat at home or go to Baskin Robins for some ice cream occasionally. My girl's got more toy's that they can play with. If I save money I usually spend it on more car parts or save for future project's.

C’mon folks, we don’t have to do this. At this rate this thread will be going back on ice.

I’m switching topics to back to something more productive.

I know we’ve addressed this before but last I saw there was some conflicting information that was shared by Wagner on Facebook to @turboAWD that the Velossa Tech snorkels do fit, but they had previously told @NYdito that they didn’t. Did we ever get a definitive answer?

I wanted to order some in, what I would assume to be a pretty basic color of all black, but was told that if they didn’t fit I’d be subject to the restocking fee. I thought ordering in a pretty basic color they would be able to resell them easily if they didn’t fit. I am being told they don’t even make them until you place the order so there would have to be a restocking fee. I don’t want to be the guinea pig on the hook for a restocking fee.

The Snorkels don't fit. I can guarantee this, its a fact. We tried to make them fit and they didn't. I don't know if all vendors will charge a restocking fee but my friend got charged 20% restocking fee after we found out about the fitment issues and he was not satisfied at all. No point on you buying snorkles if you are getting the Wagner intercoooler, you will have to resell them and lose money. If you change your mind on the Wagner intercooler and have fitment issues which you will if you own an American Stinger. Just be ready to have to make some minor modifications and some trip to Home depot if you get it. Just understand what you are buying and getting into before you actually do it.

If you don't care about the snorkles, fitment issues and are willing to install anyways then by all means do it. In your priority is to keep the snorkels then you can go AP/UP or CX racing. Do your research is my advise and decide for yourself!

Clearly, I know that which is why I said you are being condescending and antagonistic, and it is not needed.

I put that in bold so that others would see that they were minor inconveniences that MY customer had during the installation.

Since you seem to want to convince everyone that it isn't the best product and that there are so many other options out there.

Furthermore, you don't even realize that the OP who posted that is the one commenting here in this very thread with us.

I don't think I am being antagonistic when I stated facts. I am not trying to convince anyone that Wagner isn't the best product. I am simply stating facts known to this point about the Wagner intercooler for the Stinger in the USA market in particular. I am true believer that customers/potential customers should know all of the facts/information. If that was the case then you should of bolded the comments where he explained the fitment issues and what he did to fix them as well but you didn't. I went ahead and did so others can have full information before making a purchase.

From your point of view I can see why you can deem my comment antagonistic because you are a vendor and you sell these, so clearly a a conflict of interest. I am looking at the situation and speaking from a customer standpoint. I can care less about a sale when I make my comments because I am looking out for potential customers that might be under the impression that this intercooler is plug and play and they wont run into any fitment issues.

I know the customer that had the issues is posting here as well. I am also speaking for a customer that I personally helped him install this Wagner intercooler.

I didn’t have too since you already did lol

Not going to further debate this with you, there will never be any end....

I have better things to do with my time. Have a good one!

Agree like helping customers out with their Wagner intercooler fitment issues lol ....

I am joking have a good night!

This is so “angel”. Welcome back.

I never left!

But thank you “funny guy”

Sorry if some on you guys got offended. I don’t know why is so controversial to state known facts or share information that can be helpful to potential customers. Not all comments have to be positive or agree with the masses. Anyways didn’t mean to offend anyone I had a first hand experience with this intercooler and I thought I could share that for the better or worse.
