• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Utah Stingers

Cool! I didn't know about them. I think I'll try them first to see options for curing the dark chrome discoloration issue on the window and hatch trim pieces.

Back already: the guy I talked to said that he won't recommend wrapping trim pieces like ours with the rubber strips along the edges and plastic ends, because the edges of the wrap remain exposed, and with edges exposed "it would look worse than what you've got in six months." I asked if he did do the job how much? And he said between eight hundred and a thousand. "I'm shocked," I said, "but not surprised, if you know what I mean." He said: "Yes the job isn't big but it is time consuming to do it right; and then you still have the problem of not being able to eliminate all exposed edges of the wrap." His recommendation is to get new trim pieces or get these painted gloss black.

That is a steep price for just trim pieces... o_O

If you are looking to talk with another shop, I would say reach out to Luxe Automotive and see if they would be willing to take on the project. They are off 33rd and State and I've used them to do all of my tint and PPF including my roof that they did in a gloss black PPF verse a wrap so it's more protective and I got the 10 year warranty. Only negative I've had is their customer service after the fact isn't that great and sometimes they are too busy with their other, more exotic, projects. I think similar to how Envision is with their notoriety and cliental.

its been a minute since i been on here just wanted to give some of you an update on the homemade cold air intake and exhuast, ill be posting some videos next month i been so swamped with work, i will be taking a month off from work now..... ill be leaving the country but will be back next month to show the cold air intake and the exhuast i want to find a dyno to see what my car is actually putting down any recommendations where to go and prices? i have not done a tune yet looks like the only tunes avaialble are piggy back tunes and from my oppinon jb4 is the best right now for simplicity and price but its a basic tune meant for anyone to use.

the next project i will be doing is 3d printing my own intercooler from scratch all parts ill be designing it to be in conjunction with my cold air intakes
ill be making a air to air exchange intercooler but i want to make it a little diffferent then how its commonly made, i want to make a direct path for the flow of air that will pass around the cold air intakes i will also contain/ heat wrap this area so no heat from the engine gets in this area so this will produce colder temps i will also add heat exchange fans that will pump out the heat but keep the air in to produce even colder temps since i will have this in conjunction in the same area of flow from the cold air intakes this will also help the intakes bring in colder air from start and this will help out the intercooler even more because it will start out with a colder temp and by the time it gets to the end it will have an even colder temp this all means more oxygen and more boost and way less heat soak.

the only thing that i am worried about is if i buy a piggy back tune i wont be able to use it because it wont properly be tuned for my car because these tunes are based off another car with parts that are different then mine prodcuing different results and i dont want it to cause a problem because it could throw off the timming? what do you guys think? would i be fine if i bought a jb4 piggy back tune? i think i would be fine i dont think ill be producing that much better results than the parts that jb4 used on their tune car.

Lol, a guy who makes his own wheels wants validation over a bolt on tune. Experience/expertise is a very uneven commodity. I'm sure that if anything goes south, you can reverse it pronto. You know that you want to do it, so don't ask any of us. :)

I know Jerry Seiner had about 20-30 2022's around March and last week or two when I checked they were down to 5 and expecting more to be delivered. Hopefully that means we see more around then more people find the forum and then potential bigger get togethers ;)
I think this has come to fruition some, for me at least, over the past two weeks I have seen a Stinger every day almost. I think it was this last Saturday I saw 5 different Stingers in a day and that never use to happen. I've had two since November 18' and probably from that point to this Summer, June or July, I only saw 5 during that whole span!
Anyone else seeing more around here too? Maybe that means we have more people on the forums that haven't found there way to this thread yet!

Five in a day! Ace! Only Aussies have had any aces till now; and in Utah, of all places. The most I've seen in a day is three, a handful of times. I haven't seen any since I got back from LA last Saturday: saw two while down there. I've seen a total of 124 since March of 2018 (when I got my Stinger): but my first sighting "in the wild" wasn't till 4 September; I was beginning to think I was practically the only one in the Salt Lake Valley with a Stinger. :D

I might be returning to the ranks of Stinger owners!

After a fun year of divorce, lawyers, and having to sell things (Car included), my split is settled, and damn... I miss my Stinger. Coming up on a promotion at work, and I think my reward to myself is going to be a 2022 GT2.

Micro Blue of course.

As far as Utah goes, seems like SLC Jerry Seinfield is the only dealer with Stingers. Anyone know if they're hardballing prices because of availability?

"Seinfield". lol. Doug Smith isn't selling them anymore? Or just out of stock? Jerry Seiner doesn't seem to have any trouble actually getting Stingers in (although everybody is suffering shortages).

I felt the same with I had my Blue back in 18' couldn't find one to save my life.
I saw two ceramic silvers, two white, and one red. I did go from 123rd to 33rd that day so covered some decent ground on the weekend. Two or three of them were 22's as well and those new taillights are really growing on me each time I see them! Still yet to see the green in person, interested to see how that looks!

I bought my two through good ol "Seinfield" in Salt Lake and they gave me really good deals on both but that was before this market hit us. As Merlin mentioned they said they can usually get them when needed, as I was originally wanting the ceramic silver with red interior and they said they could get it pretty quick.
I did check and they have a blue and green GT2 right now! Might have to check out that green in person

Good to see more of the Stinger on the road, but even better to see more people getting on the forum too!
I've seen a couple ceramic slivers around, probably the most frequent color I've see around, but did see one with a carbon fiber hood Friday on State and about 27th, not sure if that was you or not but good to have you around!

Greatly appreciated! I had a 2018 that was blue and love that color, doesn't blend in as much with all the other cars on the road.
I love the pearl and the ceramic just couldn't get the ceramic with red interior and when the sun hit the pearl I was sold!

I'm in Utah (Ogden Area) and currently shopping for a Stinger. I privately sold my GS 350 a couple of weeks ago and have been patiently waiting for the right deal. I have contacted a couple dealerships regarding 2022's, but I just can't justify spending that much right now. Looking on KSL everyone wants a boat load for their 2018s as well. This market just sucks and I might have to keep waiting or go in and custom order a GT1 and hope incentives are good when it arrives... or just walk away.

Does this seem like a good deal to you guys for a 2022 GT2? I'm leaning towards leasing to get the larger discount. Then I could buy the lease out early if I wanted with a conventional loan through my credit union, or just send them a check... Thoughs?
