Used Stinger GT Market Info

Sabs - I'm sure you know already, but the SRT392 isn't available with a manual. And it's one I was looking at compared to a Stinger, but I'm not a huge fan of RWD - test drove a scat pack and it was chirping tires in a very mild turn off a stop light. Can't imagine putting any of that power down on bumpy roads.

OTOH, might want to also keep in mind the Q50S/RS. They are neck-and-neck in terms of power/speed with or without a tune (well, ok, the Q50S needs a tune). And Infiniti also discounts heavily. And can be had RWD and AWD. In fact, if it wasn't for their narrow sports seats, I was *THIS* close to buying a 2017 Q50S AWD for around $27K. Add a tune (several good options available) and maybe a few bolt-ons, and you're faster than any Stinger. Not saying the Q50 is miles ahead of a Stinger, but definitely a close competitor, IMHO, and also seeing major deprecitation.

I could never get over the Infinity infotainment. It seems OK at first glance, but I had one as a rental for a week and it is pure, hot garbage. It's especially not going to age well.

I've heard about the Infiniti infotainment. For me, probably not a deal breaker - I had to upgrade my '05 LGT's radio to the '06 model just to be able to read mp3s off a CD-R - 05 model was just audio CDs.. No USB / flash card of any kind. Yeah, state-of-the-art there :-)

However, there ARE Tesla-style aftermarket screens / tablets available. I think phoenix radio makes them. Some people love them, some don't, but it is an option.

KBB seems to think the Stinger resale is well in line with its competitors according to this new video about their long-term tester.

Here's updated used pricing as of 4/15/19.

Depreciation has continued at about $500/mo on the GT2.

Starting to see quite a few yellow GT's hit the market right around $30k. I did not include them in the pricing as they've undergone repaints.

GT1 seems like the best used buy. I'll still be eyeing the GT2 if my budget allows. I imagine there will be a sharp drop at the 2 year mark once the off lease cars hit the market.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I looked at car prices and it looks like limited (yellow) stingers are a great buy. There was one as low as $26K on auto-trader.

I found a Gt awd with low mileage in black with advanced river assistance package for 31k... there is hope for me that at the 2-2.5 year mark i can snag one for 25

I've seen one yellow for sale on key West and another for sale in new Jersey. Both seemed like good deals

I have found the yellow to be a lot less than other colors, bc of the repaint issue. Problem is i really dislike the yellow, any idea how much it would cost to wrap the car? Or probably cheaper and easier to pay a few more thousand for a color i really enjoy

A quality wrap is $2500-3000 from what I’ve seen, so probably best to go with your preferred color from the start.

When I went to buy my Stinger GT a month ago, I was looking at a used one. I heard about the lease buyout option, but did not know how it worked and wanted to simply buy a car. This used white stinger gt had the lane assist package or whatever, had 22k from a 9 month lease, some minor paint flaws, you can't get the 10 year warranty now that it is used, and they were asking 33500. WOW. I offered 28,000. They said no way, which I understand but I was amazed regarding the price. Then we spoke about lease options and I basically bought a brand new one for their asking price (29414 Cap cost + 3500 down = 32914) and get 22k less miles, 10 year warranty, and piece of mind because that other car must have been driven cross country or something in 9 months. So my opinion (which could be completely wrong) is that the prices of used Stingers will drop more than they have. Not only because you can buy a new one for around the same price with lease cash, but if it is a private seller they probably payed far less then sticker because of lease cash and will likely sell for less seeing that it won't be for a loss.

Yeah, agreed. Wraps only last what, 2-4 years for a good one? I also looked at yellow, but in the end just could not force myself to do it. What good is a car that my wife would hate and I would have to close my eyes every time I went to drive it, plus cop magnet?

I'm looking for white/silver/gray simply because my black '05 Legacy GT wagon blends in so well (tons of base Subarus here) that I've avoided most attention. But, the black gets so hot in the summer...

There seem to be lots of red interior cars left over - I get that SOME like the red interior, I don't - and blue / red exterior. I've had a red car before, plus again, cop magnet. Would consider blue with black interior for a really good deal..

What's your budget? If you qualify for conquest / loyalty, you can probably get a left over new red '18 GT2 AWD for around $33K + tax / fees if you have time to travel, etc. Luther Kia is selling reds for $43,xxx including conquest/loyalty. Apply $9500 lease cash. Not sure if $1000 AWD applies.

Late to the party, just catching up on your posts. Congrats on the car. Trying to help a family member get into a Stinger. Would you mind share a bit more detail? How much was the dealer discount, and how much is the lease cash on top of that discount? Which dealership? Thank you!

I live in SoCal. Kia of Carson. 2019 White Kia Stinger GT (no add-ons)

2019 Kia Stinger GT white
39300 MSRP
Negotiated Purchase Price 35950
Rebate -5500 (Have to do a 24 month lease for this)
Down Payment -3500 (Trade In 2500 (negative equity) + 6000 cash) ** Do not do a down payment for various reasons.
Taxes on DP & fees +2414 (Taxes on DP and on rebate,Registration,Acquisition, first payment, etc)
Cap Cost 29414
Monthly Payment 333

On the KMF website after one it is saying that if I buy the car out of the lease today, it would cost including Sales tax for 31,777.19 (As far as I know. I need to call them. It says if you buy in California they include tax. If not it would be more), but we should add back the 3500 I put down. So my true purchase price with tax is 35277.19. Aka 32216.61 before tax. So I bought the car at 32216.61 if I buy it out day one.

I plan to call them next week to verify all the numbers. Go to the Lease buyout section for way more info.

So I came across a 2018 GT1 with 11,500 miles. Asking price is 29K. Seems about 5k under what I expected. The catch is it's the yellow one. Is that why? I'm aware of the paint issue. Would anyone here consider the yellow ones or would you avoid the them under all circumstances?

I’ve heard the yellow Stingers have buyback/lemon titles once they get repainted.

If true, there are a few things to consider. Your resale value will be considerably lower if you ever sell or trade the car. You should check with your insurance ahead of time and make sure the title isn’t a problem. Finally, depending how well the repaint was done, it may not look as good as it did from the factory.

If you’re ok with all of that, there are low prices to be had on the yellow Stingers.

Not that I want a yellow but can someone confirm this?

Figured i would chime in with what i am finding as i track lowest prices daily. For non-yellow stingers 2018 GT's continue to drop, lowest i am seeing now is around 30k for AWD with driver assistance packages. Found a GT2 AWD for 35k with low miles as well. Obviously the yellow ones for reasons above are even lower than that, listed around 28k but can probably be negotiated even lower.

Canadian used market seems rather strong for resale in comparison. It might have to do with the low number of Stingers available nationwide. Currently on the most popular car buying website in Canada only 25 used Stingers are listed nationwide and 188 new Stinger's.

In the US on cars.com alone we have 250, probably another 100-200 cars not listed on there as well.
