Under-Seat Subwoofer Issues

I filed a complaint with Kia. Per Kia, the techs said the subs under the seats are supposed to be pushing air. I referenced the complaints here and they said they are concerned. They are pushing me to take it to a dealer to get checked out. I’ll keep you all posted.
Winner! This, people, is how things get done... :) I'm sure Kia is also concerned about this problem...

Awesome! Keep us updated. My gt2 sounds amazing, but it seems like nothing is coming from the under seat subs. All bass seems to come from door speakers. The subs don't seen to be moving any air.

I bet we'll have a TSB (technical service bulletin) for these speakers very soon...
Hopefully it's something simple that we can fix ourselves. I don't trust my local Kia to change a tire on my car let alone mess with my speakers.

I agree. The more I listen to the system the more I like it. Minus the bass issues

Hi from Australia, I can confirm that my subs do not work at all, zip zero Narda.
I saw this thread come up on a Facebook page I follow and thought the bass coming from the stereo was lacking the kick it should have.
Checking mine again today confirmed they are not working. So back to the dealer the car will go.
It’s my first non European car for many many years, and I have to say I am disappointed with stuff like this. Hope it’s a easy fix, like some sort of programming issue.
Cheers Dom

It’s a lot of coin for a Kia here in Australia, an I didn’t expect to have any issues within the first few weeks. Only picked up the car on the 14th of Dec, it’s a Oct 17 built, GT 3.3 RWD ( we don’t get the AWd in Oz) in red

It's probably something super simple to fix too. When I got my 2012 Optima SX I drove it off the lot then a day later realized the a/c only went from off to full blast, no varying levels. Took it back to the dealer and they just immediately replaced the whole a/c control unit, which didn't even fix it. turned out it was just a fuse they then replaced.

Welcome aboard, @Dominic! Thank you for signing up. And thank you very much for sharing this here with out community. This is DEFINITELY a problem and we're going to need resolve quickly. I agree with @davebo that it's probably a very simple fix like a wire being disconnected. There are a fairly large percentage of people experiencing this and the Stinger's stereo system is getting lackluster reviews as a result.

In any event, your Stinger looks great! Congratulations - and I look forward to hearing about your issue being resolved quickly...

I cranked my system up to 20 on the drive home from work this evening, and thought I felt a bit of air movement with my hand on the grill. Might have been just some vibration from the door speakers, because at 20, the music is very loud and I would expect more of a "thump" from this setup.

Is 20 maximum volume?

You would think Kia would have tested this at the factory. I am sceptical that the Kia service guys will know what to look for when it comes to the audio system.

Lol! No, but it was plenty loud, maybe about half way?

Around half way should definitely get you a decent amount of movement out of any subwoofer or speaker...

Somebody overlooked something. We're not talking about Lexus here. :p

Try the sound in mode where there is no enhanced engine sound. Maybe that’s the trigger.
