Under-Seat Subwoofer Issues

Hi All, my car went in today to have something sorted, and they checked the subs.

When I came to collect the car they said it was working, I said are you sure ...show me. I must admit I still couldn't feel anything, but didn't have time to argue.

So I left, put on the same music ....and hey presto they were working. The dealer says he didn't do anything.....but the difference is night and day. I can feel the bass not only coming up from the seat area .... you can feel it travel through you.
I had to turn down all the bass and mid bass settings.

So I have no idea what they did, but mine are working now.

I will see how they go over the next few days and report back

Very interesting. They must have inadvertently touched something. Maybe the issue is a lose wire. But if you're definitely feeling bass now - that's good and it means other people are certainly missing something...

i confirmed my GT subwoofer is working, only that it really weak and doesn't move much air. tested a full volume with some beastie boys music.

I wonder if it's just a setting in the audio controls. So you're definitely getting power but no "power" if you know what I mean...

I still think it's because these pretty much sit on the floorboard and are shallow and not much room to 'throw' their sound around. These probably provide the mid 'punchiness' sound. With bass, the more a subwoofer can move air, the more the lower tones you feel, not just hear. When my car first came off the truck, I felt them move air. I was sick at the time and sinuses being stopped up and such, everything sounding muffled, I did have the audio turned up quite a bit and probably haven't had it turned up to the extent I did that night, so it's possible they do work but just not really as noticeable unless at a higher volume.

Which leads me to believe it’s a wire that is not completely making contact. My suggestion is that those who have the issue take their cars to dealership pronto and let us all know.

Someone mentioned there is a software update. Did they do a software update on your stinger, and could this be the fix?

I asked that question as they had to replace my steering wheel (damaged leather) thought they would have had to disconnect the battery to remove the air bag .... but no.
No software update as far as I know

Weird. I have a damaged steering wheel as well. Like a gouge at the flat bottom of the wheel in the back. You?

Who's having issues with the subwoofers under the seats? You may not have them at all depending on which options you pick - but some people who DO have them are reporting they're not feeling or hearing any bass from these speakers. The more I see people talk about it, the more I realize this is becoming a fairly popular issue.

I'd like to discuss this and get to the bottom of it. Are the speakers faulty? The wiring? Did the wiring just become disconnected along the delivery process? Were they never connected in the first place? Let's get this figured out...

I am coming out of a 1400 watt B&W Volvo system which is far and away the best stock system I've heard. I cannot tell that there is anything coming out of the sub - but that does not mean there isn't. When playing iTunes there is very strong bass and good sound. Pandora is less good. Sirius XM is not good. HD radio sounds good. You can actually see the grille for the sub quite clearly with the car door open and the seat back. You can place your body in between the door speakers and the sub - I cannot tell that it is working. I will wait and see a few more replies and see if there is a TSB before I bother going into the dealer.

did some more checking, same song via bluetooth and through usb, i suspect bluetooth has a more bass response than USB. i noticed this on other bluetooth systems as well. the sub is definitely working and response is better on the USB. i have the 9 speaker system

it's better with one click front center but what ever they are under the seat they are not working but I'm not sure if the non HK gets them ? lack of info available
