Turn on wireless charging?

Stupid but possibly relevant. Do you have the door open when trying the charging since mine doesn't work until I close the door.
Stupid and super relevant, was trying a wireless android auto adapter that I just got and I was also trying to charge the phone on the wireless pad, since I never used it, because I was always connected using a cable, the charging pad wasn't working, came here to the forum and saw your post, and yep, sure enough closed the door and it started charging. Open the door and it stops. ‍
Thanks for the stupid post! Lol

There's some other functions that won't work with the door opened. Can't recall of the top of my head, but they exist. Another form of protecting the driver from themselves.

Some functions don't work with the doors open or closed.

The Ejection seat on the wife's side for instance..

If you're still having an issue, google which fuse in the compartment under the steering wheel pertains to your wireless charger, turn the whole thing off with the off switch, yank the fuse, put it back in, and see if that works. That seems to be the solution for other years where settings have vanished without a trace.

Had this happen yesterday. Wireless Charging just disappeared from the Convenience menu.
Tried pulling fuses, tried a reset of the multimedia system. Still not working. Guess it's the dealers problem now

I just checked ours - MY22 GT that we've only had for a few weeks. Exactly the same as yours. I know that the menu option was there in the Convenience menu when we got the car, and I know that the light came on to indicate that the phone was charging. Now we have no light, no charging, no menu option. I tried swapping out the fuse - made no difference.

Having this happen to one owner is a one off, but for multiple owners indicates either a software issue or a hardware failure issue. Either way - I'm with you - add it to the list for the dealer.

Madmax, some further info. I disconnected my battery a couple of days ago, left it for 15 minutes and reconnected. Wireless charging returned to the menu. Today, it's gone again. I'm definitely thinking software issue on the MY22s

I just got a tip from another owner - it seems that there is a software update freshly available for Aus MY22 Stingers.

I just checked the Kia Navigation Updater App for Australia - and it looks like they have updated the app AND put new software up for us to download.

A week ago, the software that I downloaded from there was CK_22.AUS.S5W_L.001.001.210709 so 9 July 2021 - which was older than mine (mine ends in 210804 so mine is more up to date at 4 Aug 2021) ... BUT, when I checked this morning I can see that there is new software with CK_PE.AUS.S5W_L.001.001.210913 ... so more up to date than mine (new software is 13 September). I'm hopeful that this will do a few things.

1. Give me the beautiful new climate control screens that I have seen on overseas Stingers
2. Update the navigation app to a newer version (as seen on recently delivered MY22 Stingers)
3. Resolve the disappearing QI charger issue

Cross your fingers. I'm slowly downloading the update now.

I did some troublshooting yesterday - swapping fuses etc. Not sure if it was self inflicted, but somehow the battery in the car drained completely overnight. This morning it was totally dead. I jump started it and then checked - sure enough, the QI wireless on/off option was back in the menu. Just as you said. I'll wait for it to disappear tomorrow now!

Tried the software update, says it's not compatible with vehicle.

Had the battery go flat again after sitting for 3 days unused, showing 8 volts. After jump starting the car the wireless charger was back but the ambient lighting had disappeared from the lights menu.
Disconnected battery while giving it a charge and when reconnected all options visible again.
There is definitely something not right on the Aussie MY22, and it's causing battery drain when the car is parked.
Goes into dealer on Tuesday.

I had the same issue with the software update (and I know of at least two other people who also had it fail to update). My battery went flat overnight (didn't take 3 days). I haven't noticed any issue with the ambient lighting, but it may have happened to me too. Did ambient lighting still work but just not show up in the menu, or did it not show up in the menu AND also not work?

Good luck on Tuesday. Hopefully they can shed some light on these strange goings on.

My battery could have been an overnight thing too, I didn't touch the car for two to three days so can't say.
Ambient lights were not working, and not in the menu.

Stinger went to dealer yesterday to have the back ordered tow bar installed and the wireless charger/battery discharge issue looked at.
They investigated and found a 2.5 amp draw when the car should have been asleep. Isolated where the fault was and investigated, finding a bad connection. Amps dropped to 0.070 amps once the connection was fixed.
I don't know what connection it was etc. I don't care, as long as it's fixed.
Will update if problems return.

Thanks for that. Really handy to know for us MY22 owners. Is your wireless charger definitely fixed too? Mine is still going strong - ever since I flattened the battery over a week ago.

So far, wireless charger and ambient lighting working. I guess the module with the bad connection is related to them.

I have the same problem, Bought it last week, and day two charger does not work. I am now regretting the purchase. I should have bought the Audi. I will get rid of it by the end of the year. Never again will I buy a Kia. I can not get it looked at until the end of the month.

I just recently realized I had this issue. I had disabled the wireless charging pad prior to the most recent update (US April 2022 update). Applied the April 2022 update then recently wanted to try something out with wireless charging and noticed the option was no longer there. At first I just tried to flip the fuse switch to off, wait, then back on. Didn't do the trick. Then I tried pulling all three of the multimedia fuses, wait, then put them back in and low and behold it worked. I didn't flip the fuse switch to the off position when I did this.

^^Maybe try a factory reset next time?

I was thinking about that, but wasn't sure if it wipes out all the settings and if they'd automatically restore or not. Haven't had to go that drastic yet.

My understanding is it factory resets the infotainment and other settings. That is, to the same settings when you got the car.

This is something which should be done when selling/trading the car. Wouldn't want the new owner to know which places you used the nav to visit :). This is like a factory reset on your phone (the system is android based after all).
