This may be a dumb question but did you ever give the Premium number a call? I know you have a case already but did you call the stinger premium hotline to inform them of your issue?
All good advice. I purchased winter wheels and winter tires after I bought the car so need the new one to have 19 inch wheels.
I need to do some thinking and decide if I am OK getting another Stinger and driving a car I love but from a company I detest or demand my money back and move on but then not have the Stinger that I enjoyed so much. My heart says Singer and my mind says money and move on.
My $0.02. If you settle for something other than what "YOU WANT"!!! You will never be happy and every single time you get in the car it will bug you. Walking with the money, it's over! You get to smile again. I would probably trek the 370 miles to personally pick up the one I want. If that's on the table for you but I don't think you have asked them that. If it's not take the money find another dealer that has what you want, make a weekend of it and drive home in what you want. I feel your pain. Good luck with your decision. Cheers.
Finally, good news to report. Kia is replacing my Stinger with a Micro Blue GT2 with 19 inch wheels and summer tires as I had asked for several months ago. They are shipping the car to my local dealership from down south.
After my case person refused to ship a Micro Blue GT2 to me and told me I had to choose what was on my local dealership's lot, I contacted his manager. Spoke with her on Thursday last week. What a night and day difference between her and my case person. I told her my Stinger saga and the next day the paper work was put in motion to get the blue GT2 down south. I just heard today that the car will be shipped this week. Process took 2 months longer than it should have and a lot of battling and frustration. I came close several times to just asking for my money back so I could move on. I will definitely have them verify and show me that the drive train bolts are secure and will take a thorough test drive to listen for any creaking and crackling noises or anything unusual that I would want them to fix before delivery. Hope this second one last many years.
Thank you to everyone who offered advice and encouragement these last 95 days.

You won the battle and won the war! Screw the case person for putting you through the wringer for over three months. They were probably just jealous that they don't drive a Stinger

Also, for those of you referring to the G70's valet service, I own a G70 and have been dealing with some warranty frustrations on my car. Genesis dealers are still Hyundai dealers, and even though they're trying to be totally separate, they just aren't there yet. Over at the genesisowners forum there are plenty of stories where dealers are refusing to provide loaners for service appointments, despite it being clearly written in the sales deal.
Anyway, I'm sorry you had to deal with Kia being total jerks. At least you didn't modify your car so that you actually could qualify for a replacement. I damaged mine while working on upgrading the downpipes, and now, despite totally returning it back to stock and replacing my entire turbo and all associated gaskets/hardware with new OEM parts, Genesis is telling me I no longer have my full warranty. That said, I understand where they're coming from, but my experience is souring me on the brand... Hopefully your new Stinger helps you feel better about everything and you are able to let go of the resentment! As for me, I want to jump ship, but there's nothing else out there I want...and I would be losing a LOT of money..
This thread has been a informative read. I have similar experience with all major manufacturers (BMX, AUDI, MERCEDES) Corporate insurance companies (and that is what this is) will always try to wear down the customer or interested parties. Time is on there side. They will do everything in there power to make the entire process unbearable. I'm so glad you persevered. I have had a GT2 since first release and have loved every day. It is a corporate lease(just in case)
Congrats on win.
It sounds like I might be getting a problem with my left front end , as when I pull it hard it sounds like hard rubber being crunched maybe a CV joint or something , but it is only under hard throttle. I only noticed mine after I had my Eibach front sway bar put on and , I had a re torque done but still the same sound happens if I pull strong I hope mine drive train doesn’t go bang and fly a part , these cars are still a bit pricey and considering they have 167 mph top end limter on them it would be deadly for sure )))
AWD. And buying outside Cali. Last year, it was very common to have no 19" option on AWD if you lived far enough north in some parts of the US. Iirc, Michigan buyers were stuck with 18" AWD at all the dealerships: if they wanted different, they had to shop outside the state.
2018 Stinger GT2 with 3150 miles on it. Backed out of my driveway, put it into drive, went about 30 feet and then a very loud bang, bang, bang, bang. Pulled over to the side of our street. Got out and looked underneath the car and transmission fluid was flowing from under the car. I did not hit anything. Nothing in the street. Never have hit anything while driving the car. Such a huge disappointment. Car won't go into any gear but neutral. Had it towed to the dealer. Have to wait till they are open on Monday to get some answers. I have loved this car but now wish I could get my money back if that were possible. Never had a transmission fail on any car I have owned.
Has anyone else had this experience or heard of this affecting a Stinger?
I just experienced the same issue with my 2019 Stinger GT. 11500 miles of spirited driving. I've never used the launch control, don't use the paddle shifters, usually drive the car in sport mode for the better responses. I was pulling into a parking lot and the car started dumping the tranny fluid and I slowly lost all tranny function. So disappointing. Had the car towed to the dealer and I will wait to see how things work out. I traded out of a BMW for the Stinger and regret it. The car is amazing but the reliability and dealer service experience so far have me wishing I kept the BMW.
Well, that sucks. I think you're one of a handful, I want to say three, on here, who've had their transmissions just go kaput. Warranty work, here you come. May everything work out to your satisfaction, so that the romance can resume.
