why?if you have a LSD (Limited Slip Differential) , your in trouble
all US rwds starting in 2019 are LSD, 2018 models it was an option on gt v6tt trims and standard on the gt2. Only awd models in the states with LSD are the GTS d-awd model and Indigo edition.probably a stupid question, but if some don't have posi rears, how do you know if you have one?
Kia 75W-85 LSD oil is part number UM017-CH126, for North America at least. What diff oil did you use for the rear? I have a G70 so visited my Genesis dealer. They were unable to tell me what oil to use and of course had nothing. My next visit is to the Kia dealer but it'd be nice to be informed. So far I believe the correct oil for LSD (Limited Slip Differential) diffs is 02100-00121

I'm sure reusing would have been fine. Best thing to do is replace o-rings of course. Gasket itself looked in good shape, no sealant needed.question for the OP.
Is the pan on this not re-useable due to the O ring or something?
Or did you just want to replace the pan anyhow?
Any sealant on the pan or just the o ring around the perimeter?
where'd you order your pan from?
You have a 22 right? So many parts still only show compatibility to 21
The filter and pan is one piece. There is no need to remove the pan/filter unless you are going to replace it. I was going to replace the pan/filter but the part was on back order when I replaced the transmission oil. Make sure you do a level check after replacing the oil. A basic drain and refill is what I would recommend. Good luck finding the pan/filter.Was it different changing this oil with pan removed? I saw a video showing a change with removing the pan. But a friend said it's not a good idea to do that.
Yes you want the car level, engine running and transmission oil at operating temperature to do a level check. I drained 3.5 quarts and added 4 quarts when I changed mine. Meaning mine was 1/2 quart low.I have 37,000ks ón my car but at 500hp and 822nm drive pretty aggressive so it's not necessary to change pan I though it was so basically jack car up put it on jack stand on all 4 drain oil refill oil drain again and then refill untill oil come out of level sensor.
I included a picture of the pan just to show how much metal glitter was in the pan. I wanted to replace the filter (i.e. whole pan) to put in a new filter after about 20k break-in miles. It's not required but I thought it was worth getting all that junk out considering the cost of new fluid. Was it different changing this oil with pan removed? I have linked the instructions per the service manual. http://www.kstinger.com/fluid_atf_-348.html
Yep I noticed that right away.nice instructions
I like how they refer to the level check plug as "plug A" and they refer to the fill plug as "plug A"
no potential confusion there
Gotta love push notifications!Hoping the OP might see this, one more question.
So I just got my new pan and I'm about to do the fluid.
My question is, do you need to add sealant to the perimeter of the pan or is the O ring sufficient to seal?
