Totally dissapointed in the EV6, what chance do we have for a EV Stinger?

its a joke. What really needs to happen is the parents need to be punched in the face for child abuse. She has no passion for it. Shes being told what to do and say, thats clear. Again it was a joke and didnt mean to get all political. So if this derails any further it aint my fault.

She's being fed what to say via a script. I used to also believe what she said was genuine until watching he flounder during interviews that were not scheduled ahead of time or with questions being prepared in advanced. I'll leave it at that. The world population is very easy to control and manipulate. My family fled the Soviet Union and came to the USA in the early 1990's right as the USSR was collapsing. My parents and grandparents and relatives would tell me stories and when I was young I didn't believe it. Now that I'm older I see it. Scary stuff.
She was a minor when people started saying things that insinuated physical abuse and assault towards her. If your problem is her parents, then direct your fervor and innuendo towards them and every other parent who models and shapes their child’s ideals after their own. Leave the young woman out of it. I’d love to know which 15-year-olds are capable of fielding questions and responding to veteran interviewers about environmentalism without preparation.

She may have been introduced to environmentalism by her parents, and so have countless other youth who were pushed into certain STEM, medical, and law fields, but I don’t see them being accosted on the Internet.

Regardless of where her views originated, she has cultivated them and continues to engage in environmental discussions and activism.

But yeah, that Mach E really did generate headlines and positive reviews.

100% ! the propaganda machine is alive and well !

Been waiting for a EV version, bought the Stinger since this is the death years of petrol/diesel cars here in Scandinavia, but always wanted a good one to drive, the tax is like 5K on newer ones due to new legislations, can't afford that..

Why, if it's like they said, that the chassis is prepped for a EV version, do they release this butt ugly EV6?

What are the chances of seeing a EV/Hybrid Stinger? I think it is for some reason, slim to none, looking at that KIA didn't get what they made with the Stinger, which should have been lifted from the brand and sold in Stinger stores.. :\

They built such a nice car and just flopped bringing it to market, imho, marketting idiots. Haven't even seen a commercial for it up here!

I'm not a fan of the EV6. I think the Ioniq 5 is a lot more interesting. It kind of has a hot hatch look vs the EV6's CUV look. If given the choice I'd go for the Ioniq 5 over the EV6, if performance were equal (which it should be).

BUT, I understand Kia's reason for making the EV6 a CUV and success of the EV6 should help to make a performance EV sedan from Kia possible so even though I wouldn't buy one, I see it's presence as a plus.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I'm disappointed the refresh didn't bring a hybrid version of the Stinger, but the refresh did address the dealbreakers, particularly the lack of UVO Link. Unfortunately, it seems that AWD will come with a lowered speed limiter, which is a huge bummer, but I am hoping by the time I have the opportunity to legally send it to the top (ORR or renting a track, or MT brings back "reasonable and prudent" unlimited speed), there will be a crack for the limiter.

Rustang MACH-E: it reportedly does not suffer for performance, can out-lap the Stinger, and is AWD, so why all the hate for it? I know, it cheapens the Pony car heritage, but don't you think they'll be offering a coupe version of the vehicle at the next Rustang refresh? In any case, the Rustang MACH-E is not for me, nor is any EV at this point, because the routes I take are usually far from charging stations.

I've been making the car purchase slow and deliberate because I have accepted that this will be the LAST gasoline-powered sports sedan I'll buy, or at least the last non-hybrid sports sedan I'll buy. It's possible I'll buy another ICE-only sportscar, but very unlikely I will buy another ICE-only sedan. Therefore I want it to be a really fun one... and even though BMW addressed their deal breaker (Android Auto support), they've fuglified the interior of the 3-series, so the M340xi is out (and the M3 was never in, because no AWD).

Also, why all the hate for being environmentally responsible? One would think that CONSERVatives would be about conservation and that fellow Christians (which most conservatives claim to be) would be all about being good stewards of the Earth. ;) There's really no point to hoarding all the wealth if the one habitable planet we have access to ceases to be habitable. :-(

Only if AWD comes with square setup and A/S tires. Staggered with Michelin PS4 summer tires have the 167 MPH limiter.

I don't think anyone has ever expressed so many reasons for NOT buying a Stinger. Each time they address one issue you have you find a different reason for not buying one. Have you considered maybe it's just not the car for you? There may be better options out there for you. Hopefully the Kia Stinger isn't the only contender in your new car hunt.

I said they addressed the deal breakers. Reading comprehension fail?

Note:

The lack of UVO Link is a huge dealbreaker, considering that every one of Kia's named competitors to the Stinger offered the functionality all along.

Now for a new car upgrade for me, the holdup is the market tanked, and I am waiting for my portfolio to rebound, or worst case, for more of my stock grants to vest over the next 10 months.

Weak attempt at flaming; I'll rate your attack a 1/5.

Yes, you said they addressed your issues with UVO and that now you're concerned with a lower than 167 mph speed limiter on cars with A/S tires. I wasn't trying to "flame" you, as your issues aren't relevant to me. I got 20 months and 22k miles of enjoyment out of my Stinger. Whether you get one or not won't impact me. I was sincerely wondering if there are other cars in your hunt (I recall you mentioning others before but I believe you ruled them all out for one reason or another). If you're too sensitive for anyone to have a conversation with let me know and I'll avoid you from here on. Otherwise, maybe try to relax. I'm not out to get you. I'm not your enemy. And my post wasn't an "attack." Your paranoia is unwarranted.

Its the last comment that conservatives and Christians have a problem with. Both conservatives and Christians want to be good stewards of the Earth. What wrong with using fossil fuels correctly? You can be a good steward and still use fossil fuels. The big issue that liberals have is that they genuinely believe that the earth will cease to be habitable if we dont stop doing X or start doing Y. And nothing could be further from the truth. God holds this place together, when it comes time to end it, He will.

lmfao wow   o_O

Aaaaaaand getting back to cars, I'll throw this out there: I really hope that an EV Stinger is a Coupe or Shooting Break. Kia makes enough practical cars, time for them to up the ante and make a proper toy!

Nowhere did I say that is a deal breaker.

Good news! The M3 will be arriving in AWD and its supposed to be nearly half a second quicker than the RWD version. I'm in!
However, I'm considering the M550Xi as an alternative. Its essentially a detuned M5 with better road manners, no trick front/center diff and a far more stealthy exterior. The M5 screams "I'M FAST AF" where the M550xi is far more subtle.

That said, I drive the Stinger HARD. In the past year, I've only ever gotten close to the limiter once. It was an exceptional sunday on I25 (Colorado) heading north. Under daily driving conditions, I've found I run out of road before I run out of car. While I miss having a V8 coupe with more power, I find the Stinger allows you to use 90% of what you bought on a regular basis where my E90 body M3 hardly got wrung out.

heck... I find the stock power of my Stinger a bit much if I'm being honest... lmfao I'm growing older/maturing it seems! :p

I remember a few years back when I first launched a sub 2.5-second car during my first week of training at work and was smiling ear to ear... but the scary part was I still wanted something faster... idk...

I have friends with crazier cars than mine... far crazier... anything that goes 0-60 consistently under four seconds is way too much for the road... heck even in my WRX or Stinger hitting 0-60 consistently under five seconds is more than enough...

Malarkey! It won't be too much until the numbers hit the negatives! Let me know when cars do 0-60 in negative 3 seconds. Then we'll talk.

You're channeling a certain Stephen King short story. :D

Punch an 18 year old woman in the face because she has strong environmentalist views? The fact that she found her passion at a young age is admirable. Even if I don’t plan on going full Greta, I pray that I am as passionate as her about something one day.

Say what you will about the Mach E, Ford got exactly what they wanted, marketing hype, by putting the ‘Mustang’ badge on it. Whether people love it or hate it, people are talking about it and the ‘it’ is an EV. Ford is going to ride that pony, no pun intended, until the wheels fall off.
We are all as passionate about something as Greta. Internal combustion sports cars that go fast.
