Which Should I buy

I can tell you i personally shopped both the Mazda turbo and the GT1. Absolutely no comparison when it comes to power and the 'wow' factor. I owned a 2016 Mazda 6 and was excited when they announced the turbo version... until I drove it. It was still the same mazda with about 75 more HP. I think they did a great job putting the gearing together for it, but the Stinger is simply in a different class. Rear wheel and 100 more HP paired with a stylish exterior made the decision easy for me.

If price is the only objective, then i get it. But if you can spend the extra $50/month on the Stinger I would urge you to get it. You will not regret it!

Which trim level Mazda 6 are you comparing too? If price is a major concern, maybe you should look at the Optima SXL.
Price isn't the deciding factor, just value for money. Looking at the responses, my biggest concern, turbo lag, seems like I can chalk it up to something with the car I drove. But, for completeness, I am looking at the Mazda 6 Grand Touring Reserve.

It's like a base Stinger with all the options.

I don't want to bother researching this, but the single feature the Stinger has over all the competition is interior size. It has a longer wheelbase. More cubic feet of trunk space. More legroom for rear passengers.

The pedal has travel in it... moreso than the 4 banger boosted Mazda. It is something you can notice going from one to the other. However, turbo lag is not something I would say this car has an abundance of.

When up picture the most beautiful car, I truly hope its one you love.

What price are you seeing for the Mazda? What money are we talking about?

Is that the price of the car or out the door, which includes dealer fee, taxes, tag, etc? Did you see the price of the GT posted today? $33,500 OTD. Does not have the Sunroof though. It does have all the safety features and LSD.

You should buy the Mazda. There is no similarity between the Mazda 6 and a Stinger GT beyond the fact they are both cars.

How can a bunch of Stinger lovers provide you enough opinionated proof that you should spend the extra $$$$ on a Stinger? You've got to sell yourself. I was leaning heavily toward buying a 2018 Charger SRT 392 until I asked my local Kia dealer to take the Stinger GT2 for a weekend test drive. On the Saturday of my weekend test drive, I test drove the 392 also, one right after another. The OTD cost was nearly identical, but the comfort, versatility, ease of use and pure fun was heavily in favor of the Stinger - so, I bought one. I've had it 5 weeks now, Rolled over 3,000 miles today and have never looked back...

Skip the opinions and take enough time to truly experience the Stinger GT for an extended period. If you don't love it, buy the Mazda 6. There are plenty of them available...

I just priced a Stinger GT, MSRP $39,300 lease with $8,525 rebates and discount giving the purchase price of $30,775 plus fees, taxes, t & t. ????? Looks cheaper than the Mazda?

I just saw this and updated my post with very specific numbers to me more precise and helpful depending on your state tax situation/dealer fees and addons.

Here was what I paid last week.

Red, GT, RWD, Limited Slip Diff, Drivewise, Mud Guards, All Weather Mats, Tint. Sitting on lot for 220 days.
Cash Price 36675
Net Cap Cost $32079
Dealer Fee $649
My lease payments on that amount would be $436 for 36/10k
I will have a $250 early buyout and at that point I would also finance the $1100 in state tax.

Orlando Kia was the most competitive on price, if you are in the region I would check them out or atleast get a competitive quote from them. I got my local dealer to match.

Great name (Go Jackets!} And great info. I do not understand this lease buyout stuff. I will need to research.

Read the post on this. In essence, KIA has some pretty nice discounts on the Stingers, folks are getting a discount on the MSRP, then taking the lease cash out after taxes, tags and fees, then getting their own loan or just paying off the dicounted price after a month or 2 of leasing. Most dealers seem to be giving a 10% discount on price, some go a little better. A number of folks that were gong for a GT ended up with a GT2 AWD instead. Lease cash on that is $7900+1000 for the AWD and if you are military, there is another $400, so you can potentially get an additional $8900 or $9300 off on that car just on the rebates alone. Add in the 10% or so discount and you can be around $15k off MSRP. Some folks come out around $41k for the buyout on that trim.

When I look online, I don't see anything about these lease cash discounts. Am I missing something?

Build the car, then select the calculator, upper right corner, it will take you to the break down on prices for buy and lease, they are without taxes and fees. Keep that in mind.

I wanted to hear from Stinger drivers if the extra cost was worth it.

Who's doesn't love driving a Mazda?

I am looking to replace my 2009 G37. I test drove a 2018 Mazda 6 2.5t right before a GT1 RWD. The ranking is Stinger GT2, Accord 2.0T Touring, Camry V6 XSE, and Mazda 6. The Mazda was the lagging, slowest and most frustrating to drive out of the 4.
