Tork Stinger 11.98 1/4 mile!!

NO KIDDING!!!
That upsized turbo looks freaking MONSTROUS compared to the OEM one!! A little lag maybe, but I can't even begin to think what that's putting out in terms of power!!
I haven't followed closely this guy's project, but since you guys have many questions I have searched for his posts
and in a few weeks old post he says that he expects car to make over 500hp at the wheels...

Those foam filters aren't doing them any favors...
I'm surprised by the effort being put into these. The Stinger isn't what you would call a traditional drag race car. It's big, it's heavy. The lotus elan chassis wasn't really designed for drag racing. That said if you are serious about drag racing the stinger, anything less than a standalone EMS, big turbo upgrade and nitrous to spool it is just amateur hour, and that's at a minimum and still won't get you sub 10. I just don't understand the endgame with this car, it's not a great drag racing platform nor is it a super great track monster either. It's a grand touring car. If you want a great platform for drag racing there are an infinite number of cars less than 5k that are readily available and modable. Get a lightweight chassis for sub 5k, and an engine for another few grand. Once you get your standalone ems running right you'll be running sub 10's for under 10k. Nobody buys a 30k+ grand touring car to drag race it. It's like wearing a clown costume to a wedding, it just doesn't belong there.
Imported cars are ridiculously expensive here, and expensive to tune/repair.
The Stinger is the fastest Korean car (with the G70), maybe that is why it attracts tuners.
But I understand your point!

Wow, that 575-600 crank HP! I wonder at which point he'll start bending rods or breaking other drivetrain pieces?! I can understand where reliability can come into question! I read somewhere that 800 HP/800 lb.ft. are the limits on the Stinger. This will be testing that theory and if this car stays together, than the North American tuners with their relative piddly (amateurish?) power gains will have little to worry about.

People like nice cars and they want to make them faster. I don't really understand what's confusing about that? I haven't heard of anyone trying to professionally drag a Stinger, if they were your argument would make sense. Running it on a drag strip just tells you how fast it is, it doesn't mean you're trying to be a professional racer.

And if someone does, why do you care? 40k to some people is throw away money. Some people just like doing something new, challenging, and it's all of us peons that will benefit from the knowledge they gain and money they waste.

In addition to that, it will be interesting to see if they found the limits of the stock fuel system and how they will tackle adding more fuel once they hit the limit.

What you said is correct, the car is not made for drag racing, same can be said about many other cars like Ex. BMW's, Mercedes were people have dumped thousands making them faster for drag racing, some want the recognition while others for enjoyment etc etc you will never really know why but obviously they are enjoying it. It is there money at the end, let them spend for our entertainment.

my dream is to eventually get it to around 700 np after I’m done using my stinger just turn it into a all out beast, prolly try to engine swap maybe even tranny swap to manual just cause. People go crazy with all kinds of cars why not a stinger, someone’s gotta do it. I know it’s going to be a mf but yk we’ll see. I’m 19 so i don’t know how but yk baby steps with my stinger got to get intakes and jb4 first lol.

For us old folks, what does "yk" stand for? "You know"?

Yes that’s correct it stands for you know, I’m tying on my phone so I text different than I would type gen z things i guess

Thanks, I have a 19 year old so I have to try to keep up.

Then again, his arse barely replies to my texts anyway. Damn kids!
