Tinny Sound

Here is a stock exhaust, but muffler delete:

Go to 2:45 for the full throttle run - I think it sounds pretty racey!

What do you guys think?

Here is another muffler delete only - ful throttle at 5:10...

Apparently keping the cats and resonators are the key.

At WOT, it has a proper wailing racecar sound without being too loud.

Too raspy for me with the resonators missing.

Here's audio from my car yesterday but it's really poor quality bc it's from the dashcam inside, so it doesn't capture much nuance at all (e.g. sometimes when you accelerate hard it'll make these whip-snap sounds when shifting). Also the whines I recorded here are weak but you kinda get the idea. All in all the car does indeed sound great given the accelerations I included and maybe we're just splitting hairs (us folk with the Ultimate Performance HFC downpipe and midpipe combos). Maybe all my complaining here has ultimately led me to realize yet again that my perfectionism is ridiculous and that I'm too hard on myself!

I'm extremely picky when it comes to noises as well, unless I'm in ym lifted jeep lol. The resonators I added would help if it bothers you. I still have it but under hard acceleration in comfort for a sec. No where what it was.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I solved my sound issues with Ultimate Performance downpipes combined to a MBRP Pro catback. After some research, I took a chance and added a pair of Magnaflow resonators to the back of the MBRP x-pipe. Had to cut 18 inches off the connector pipe to the mufflers, but 99% of the tinny, buzzing, farting noises are gone. Only on a very cold start do I get a loud 1 second buzz. The roar is not as intense on WOT anymore and it will be missed, but I'm very satisfied that I can cruise in peace now. Here is a pic of the Magnaflows tucked in after the x-pipe.

Cheers

Awesome! Glad you found a solution to your problem, any chance that we could get a video of how it sounds now? I feel as if people on these forums don't go too into detail with their exhaust setups, just slap the MBRP pipes on it and call it a day. Nice to see these mixed setups.

Got myself a Lozic EVC (rebranded of the Korean brand maintec) and sounds similar to Jun BL EVC. Closed valves are good but you don’t buy this setup to run closed all the time :P seen your before and after clips with the vibrant resonators. Your setup had a lot more tinny/raspy sound under WOT than mine. Now that you’ve had your vibrant ultra quiet’s for some time, do you still recommend them? I’m considering this route or MBRP resonators. However what I’m reading and with your videos (thanks by the way) vibrant > MBRP. Looking forward to your thoughts. I’m guessing the stinger will never sound as clean as say my Subaru’s aftermarket exhausts..

Agree on the rasp vs. the other videos that kept them. I guess the resonators are there for a reason after all.

Anybody know what this round bladed thing is at 0:36ish? Looks like a fan, but on the transmission crossmember. Some kind of mega lock washer?

I've only had a catback exhaust on a Subaru Legacy GT spec.B and that sounded amazing without rasp at any RPM. Bought this Lozic (Maintec) EVC catback system and the inconsistent rasp is driving me nuts. I'm thinking of wrapping just the mid pipe resonator to start unless do you think I should wrap the entire mid pipe section? Any thoughts?
