Tinny Sound

You have downpipes and catback, with stock mids? Or aftermarket everything?

If you still have your stock gear, maybe try swapping everything past the downpipes back to stock and doing a sound check?
All after market pipes. Great performance tho.

Well if you're curious about aftermarket downpipes / stock catback to avoid the rasp, why not experiment? Most people do catback first, then maybe mids, because they're easier to get to, but since you already have the downpipes done, why not throw on the stock catback, and if you don't like it, stock mids? I'd definitely be curious how a downpipe-only upgrade sounds and feels.

Anyone try this iteration of only modding the down pipe but keeping the other pipes stock? In terms of getting rid of any rasp/tinny noises. I like my Stinger loud but at this point I’m def willing to cut the noise down to end the rasp saga. But still need some extra noise compared to stock!
That's what I was wondering. I would think the performance would improve on the more open pipes from the turbos / mids, even with stock catback. Not sure if I've seen a vid with sound of that set up?

I just made a post with the same issue. I added vibrant ultra quiets . It's only there at 2k to 2.5k manageable much more than before. However extremely annoying. Anyone test these with ark cat back since it uses a H pipe and little chambers on the side? I think our X pipes could be the issue as well. I've been sick to my stomach since this upgrade. First turbo stud broke. So many headaches, but the power increase. I'm going to try straight pipes Monday. No X pipes, run the mids straight to the Vibrant resonators. At this point the flanges are rusted on the MBRP and leaking. I asked MBRP for just a new X pipe to buy. They pretty much sent me to the shop page for a new exhaust. Im also considering add an H pipe, maybe this can help the flow not hit the hi rasp. I was quoted a lot at 800.

Also with performance, I ran a draggy test. With a leak at the turbo and spinning on my winter tires and overboost I got a 3.6. Im sure with my summers i can get being a lot lighter and grippier. I'm sure I can be in low 3.5s or better. Once my ecu comes back from tork this week.ill test agaun, before without these. My best time with a almost no spin launch i got a 3.75 or mostly 3.9 alot of the times.

I wonder if the crimped spot at the front is what helps. How free flowing is our stock exhaust if we were to cut that spot and weld in a secrion
I can't really speak to that. That said, most exhausts with downpipes either didn't sound good or seemed too loud. The only one that seems like a reasonable choice to me is the Megan Racing, since it is so conservative.

Reason it looks conservative is probably due to the added resonators at the xpipe it seems

I'm sure that's a huge part. Based off your videos it seems like you have a good knowledge of how important resonators are on the Stinger.

How does yours sound with ark exhaust? I feel like ark doesn't rasp or sound tin like

I don't have an Ark exhaust, only sway bars. My exhaust is stock, but it sounds pretty good.
