You drive a Stinger today while your Optima is in for an oil change, and you specifically request the 2.0-liter.
I know the 3.3-liter would be intoxicating. I've had several cars with over 350hp, and they're fun in their own way. BUT ... I live in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex, and the opportunities to unleash 365hp are very limited. You might get to squirt through traffic for a minute, but then you're right back on the brakes. You can't really stretch its legs.
My 2.0-liter turbo Optima feels plenty lively, and I can outrun most drivers under the driving conditions we're blessed with around here. The extra power of the 3.3 would really be a factor only on the highway, and I frankly don't get to do more than 1 or 2 road trips a year. So the 2-liter serves me well. Since the Stinger's engine is virtually identical, and it has the added benefit of an 8-speed transmission, it feels equally responsive to me in spite of its extra weight.
Yeah, it would be fun to have a big honkin' twin-turbo engine, but it would be a shame to have it and not be able to use it. Like I said in the title, maybe this is how I know I'm getting old. Lol.
