Drag/Acceleration The Official 1/4 mile track thread.

Sorry you are correct i am AWD and i have put in K&N air intake system with a borla pipe, nothing else.. but even before my mods i had same thing going on LC when i found out about it stock. 270 ft elevation at 50*F.
The intakes and especially exhaust will help add some power, and the elevation and relatively low temp are going to help a lot as well. Still surprised it's spinning the tires though, with an AWD and the PS4s for grip - while the 2WD guys seem to struggle with traction, I've never got the impression it was an issue for the AWD cars unless they're tuned to develop considerably more power.

I kinda got a hint it may not be normal because vs a S5 i noticed his wasnt spinning.. i didnt pay attention to my rpm but im sure im at the standatd 2200 like others posted.. i will ask another canadian about his but he is at 3000 ft only mod is racechipped, he ran 0.06 faster.. ive looked everywhere on forum and havent heard any awd vomplain about it

Are you driving around the waterbox, so your tires are dry when you launch?

I'm running about .3 faster than you in the 60 foot and 11.8s quarter mile with PS4S and don't spin even on the street at 28 degrees F. A few AWDs with out the PS4S running around 12 flat have some spin issues on the track.

I ran them thru the water box, but my first tests in a parking lot was the same.. i have tried LC 8 times since i found out about it and only once i didnt have wheelspin and theres no factor that i can think of that makes it stand out. ONE thing that pops up in my mind is that ive had my AWD CEL light up previously this winter for no absolute reason (i thought maybe i just hoped in the car started it and put it in D -> sport too fast) but it went away after after i stopped the car at my destination and mentionned to dealer and said no codes.

I see you asked on another thread and said your tires were spinning BEFORE you released the brake - that's a whole different issue from what I though you were asking about.

I take it then your back tire(s) are starting to spin while the front brakes hold you (in LC mode) at the line - is that correct? That's a brake hold issue, not a traction issue at all ... are you holding the brake pedal down as hard as you can, prior to release?

you can't brake boost this car without unplugging some stuff first. If he's getting tire spin with the brakes held down, something is wrong.

Yes, if it's spinning while LC is engaged, it sounds like a non/partially functional brake at that corner - which could be a number of issues.

I've spun the rears before while holding LC. Just gotta push the brake harder.

Chris you may wanna check your tire pressures....they may be too high.....for dragging no more than 30 psi....I run 29 when at the strip :) Wash

I am not in town with my car so i will test this once im back yes seems front brakes are holding me - ill see if holding brakes all the way down was my issue along with tire pressure (i think 40psi front 38 psi back)

Finally hit 13.00 flat @ 109 at altitude Im very happy for having the car run that with just the JB4 !. Actually map 2 ends up being the sweet spot for power and snice up here snice 91 is the highest available fuel that I mix with e85 to make e30 94 oct. It required at minimum 2 gallons of 100 oct on top of the e30 mix to hit a ratio the car was happy with on maps 3 and 5 which wasn't practical. So I'm pretty happy with the consistency now. # High altitude problems. 20190514_071813.webp

Back at it! Any changes?
