Drag/Acceleration The Official 1/4 mile track thread.

Not quite. Remember cross sectional area is
A=πr squared. In this case a 4in single exhaust offers approximately a 50% flow improvement over 2x 2.25 in. Kinda a mute point though with stock downpipes as they are the restriction.

If you go look at the exhaust he is talking about, you will see it is 3 inch dual from the turbos that merges to a single 4 inch.

Just curious, what was the deal with his cylinder 6?

You mean the IAT spoofing? It's an add on wire (half a fuel wire kit) that lets the JB4 change the IAT and can be useful with WMI kits to increase or decrease timing advance and WGDC to a degree. Sort of a band-aid solution so it's not an official thing.

I know the exhaust, didn't know he had updated it with 100 cell cats. It was originally just midpipes.

Gotcha. Thanks.

Do you just install it and your ready to go, or do you have to make adjustments?

IAT spoofing is a wire you add to harness, then a setting you enable depending on what you want to do with it. Normally we handle those on a case by case basis.

What are the symptoms to know whether you need it or not?

There isn't a specific symptom. For those pushing boundaries it can be useful though to squeak out another 1psi, for example. So if you fit that model then grab one. :)

I have injen air intakes, but I'm not sure that's what your referring to.
Oh sorry for some reason I thought you had stock intakes! :)
How much peak boost are you seeing in logs with your settings?

I didn't realize our track opened up already so I'll need to make a trip fairly soon. I'm not satisfied with the JB4 indicated 5.1s 0-60 on Map 2, hopefully the 1/4 proves the car is faster otherwise...should be mid 12's with AWD I would expect?

it's not, dragy results varied View attachment 24337 from dead flat to -99. Heres another. They cant seem to get slope right.
Did dragy also show 121 on your fast trap run?
I put my stock mids back on. Last week run vs today. No real difference.
With da factored only .038 faster with the mid mod. (Run from the same spot)
