Drag/Acceleration The Official 1/4 mile track thread.

I got a ton more videos that i need to get from my wife camera.

lol congrats! I'm a man of my word. Email me your address we'll get it out Monday. :)

Thank you Sir!!! I give you permission to use my results for marketing purposes lol JK

Thanks Terry can you please give me your email address?

For all those people that thought I was a JB4 hater. I was never a JB4 hater as I own one and love it. I just didnt like the fact that people were claiming times without hitting the track.

This is proof that with a decent driver and some bolt ons you can get into the 11's with the Stinger with a JB4. (NO WMI, NO INTERCOOLER, NO NITROUS)

The Stinger/JB4 was kicking ass today at the track. I even had a stinger owner ask me to borrow my jb4 lol.

A lot of the credit goes to the JB4 of course but give some credit to the driver lol.

This is the most up to date list for 4/6/2019.

Finally I was able to get on the list. 11's or bust lol

I am number #3, I cant beleive I actually took Tork down lol...I know he is not happy JK

For Track Results:
1. Provide picture of track Slip. Try to provide a picture of the track slip by your car number if possible, this will ensure the track slip belongs to your car.
2. Video of track run. Its 2019 and everyone owns a smart phone. Have someone record you when you make your runs. If you break a record then this is the ultimate proof that no one can deny. This is what will make your run 100 percent validated. Of course make sure you record the time at the end. (Optional, Not Required but preferred)
3. List all performance mods, including tires, WMI, Nitrous, weight reduction, etc......

For Dragy Results:
1.Post the dragy slip/result. Your name should match your user name or real name to make sure you used it on your car.
2. If possible have someone record you, although not required but helpful. (Optional, Not required but preferred)
3. Be honest about the conditions you ran in, meaning temperatures. Winter time vs summer time. Dragy should be used more as a performance reference, rather than the ultimate 1/4 results.
4. List all of your performance mods.

Here are the top times as of April 6, 2019.

I know this might spark some Tork and BMS debate but lets keep it professional please.

@Terry@BMS I tried sending you a PM and it wont let me. If you can please give me your email or PM me. I then will send you my address and logs where i got the 11.9 to see if there is potential improvements.

Great job guys! Angel, get that 60 down and you could hit 11.8s.
As much is i like Debears he should be below Jessie / turbokits. Slower et and slower trap.

Thanks Tonka!! I will send my logs to terry to see if there is room for improvements.

I will fix the list to reflect that. I didn’t look at the numbers closely I beleive your right.

Thanks Terry!! Will email you shortly. FYI I will email you 3 logs on Map 5. Not sure which one was the 11.9, not sure if you are able to know by looking at it.

Updated List to reflect the correct order.

I’m not sure if you answered this already, but how did you launch? Did you use launch control? Did you shift yourself? Do you have 18 inch or 19 inch wheels?

I have not but I will.

Yes I did use launch control on this run. Not sure if it worked but I defenetely used brake and gas. LC was acting funny for me.

I have 19 inch wheels.

I did not use paddle shifts at all in any of my runs. Next time I go to the track I will use paddle shifts to see if that helps my timing. I only used Auto “D” drive not paddle shifting.

I beleive I still have some room for improvement since I am still getting used to the car.

@Kato_the_kia_stinger

I had E30 gas and its crazy that the E85 gauge that @brancky3 recommended actually worked. I know Terry told me it wasn't 100 percent accurate, but I was running E30 give or take and the E85 Gauge on the JB4 had a "29", That is pretty dawn close if you ask me.

Also surprisingly this 11.9 run I had was not my first run. It was the car 6th run. I had 2 runs and then the wife did 3 runs and then was when I hit the 11.9. Before I did my 11.9 run I did let the car cool down for like 15 minutes.

I turned down the the PSI on my tires to 34 from 40. That seem to help. 34 psi seemed to work great for me. Not sure if that will work great for others but it did for me.

My launch was not perfect, but it was pretty dawn good. If you see the video the Mustang actually reacted faster than I did.

@Terry@BMS took a look at my logs and told everything looked good. So I assume the the E30 I had was mixed correctly and the car was behaving well under Map 5. Most of my runs were on Map 3 thou.

My aftermarket rims are not light wheels, there actually heavier than stock. I ran 245/35/19 up front and 275/30/19 on the rear. I have no sidewall at all which is not good for drag racing. I had summer tires on Firestone Indy 500.

There definitely room for improvement on my tires for sure. I should be ordering some Nitto NT05 tires and will be running a higher sidewall. So I will do 245/40/19 up front and 275/35/19 on rear.

I also plan on get the wagner intercooler or wait to see what new intercooler comes out. I believe I heard Terry saying he was working on an intercooler as well. So only time will tell what route I go.

If anyone has any more questions let me know. I am trying to provide as many details to help others. Maybe some can give me some tips as well.
I know @DaBears4Lyfe was the one to tell to lower my PSI. It worked great.

We're 4/10ths of the way there to an all 11 second top 10. :)

Your sidewall is the same as stock 19s since your tires are wider.
Were you getting spin before you lowered the psi?
What was off on your LC?

In addition, the tire height is 25.6 which is shorter than OEM, this will positively affect the launch and overall gear ratios of the car. At this stage since we are still dealing with the weak OEM launch control, shorter tire height (provided traction is available) is a good mod for the Stinger. I found out the hard way cause my tires are 27".

My sidewall is actually a little shorter than stock.
Front tire comparison. My front are .3 inches shorter sidewall.

The rear sidewall is actually .5 or 1/2 inch shorter than oem.

Yes there was definitely some wheel spin. I didn't feel the car hooking aggressively like I wanted too. With the adrenaline of the races I am not sure how bad the wheel spin was, but I only did two run with 40 psi on my tires, the wife did 3 runs. When I asked my wife she did say the car felt a little shaky when she was taking off, I assume what she was experiencing was minor wheel spin. I did notice that once I lowered the PSI to 34 all my other runs seemed to hook better and traction felt improved.

Next time I go to the track I am going to do my run with 30-31 psi. That might be the magic number for me. I am going to experiment more with the psi on the tires, I really think this helps a lot when doing 1/4 mile. It can be the difference between a 12 flat and a 11 second pass. I feel like I am giving you guys way to many tips and you will beat my time lol JK

For Launch control I had traction and stability control off, on sport mode, and "A" off. I did accidentally activate Auto hold thinking it was the"A" and it messed some of my runs and wife runs.

I feel like traction can be an issue on AWD as well. Of course not as bad as RWD. @DaBears4Lyfe was having major traction issues. I was having minor traction issues.

Another factor to account for is the reaction time and the driver mod. By any means I am not a professional driver. I do go to the track a lot and have been going to the track a lot before I owned the Stinger. I go a lot with the Lexus IS 300 and Lexus ISF. What I am trying to say I can launch either of my Lexus car with my eyes closed. It’s like myself and my Lexus are sync together to one. I am not there with the Stinger yet. I believe with more practice I will. My other advice to people is practice your launch.

Agree on both counts. The shorter sidewall can be beneficial if you can get the car to keep traction. It is hard thou since shorter sidewall in my case dawn near no sidewall is not really ideal for drag racing.

More Videos Of Stock Stinger AWD and @DaBears4Lyfe life kicking some ass at the track.

@DaBears4Lyfe crushing some dudes dreams and aspirations as a BMW owner. ( Legend has it the guy left after this and his buddies are still looking for him)

@DaBears4Lyfe took a Pontiac GTO full bolt on and motor was partially built, car had full slicks on. This is where I knew any minute a race war could start. The GTO owner was salty, I spoke to him lol.

This a Stock Stinger we ran into at the track. I didnt know this person lol, it was just coincidence. I know this much the stinger owner will be buying a JB4. After seeing my runs and @DaBears4Lyfe runs she was fully sold on the JB4. I figured I would help @Terry@BMS out and bring him a new customer his way lol.

I should be sponsored by the JB4 lol JK I am going to so many track events that I will put the Stinger/JB4 on notice here in the Midwest.
