I don't mind the "tacked on" or standing up screen. Somebody said it interferes with your view out the windshield, but that would only be true if you were under five feet tall and not using your
seat in the highest position.

If the Stinger media "tablet" were down in the dash, imagine where the layout of media and climate buttons would have to go. The entire dash would have to be redesigned and shuffled, and I don't see how a "retro look" could have been achieved, which was part of what Kia was after with the interior and the placement of the three circular "jet turbine"
air vents.
Arguably, by having a low position for the touch screen, you are taking the driver's eyes even more off the road. By having the screen higher your peripheral vision is more engaged in what's going on outside.
