That doesn't make it right, peoples lives could be at stake driving underpar wheels, the fact manufacturers might be releasing "temporary spares" doesn't mean a lot when your the one having to drive on them.

You've obviously made up your mind.

Came across this while looking for something else but here is my 2 cents. I have used small spare twice. Both times under 25 miles. Thankfully. This is practice for may cars. If you are worried about availability then buy front spare and keep at home in garage to save your trunk. Buy spare Front tire. I here rear will not work on front but front will work on rear due to off set.
