Suspension Performance and How to Improve it!

Thanks, that is very helpful!

Are the Ultra racing braces reasonably easy to install?
I don’t have them but installation seems pretty straight forward.
If you go on Ultra Racing website they have install institutions

Did you also do the BMS diff brace? Or do the ultra racing braces cover similar territory? How hard are they to install?
Ultra helped to cancel the body flex or chassis flex, in no way I was looking to make it more uncomfortable to ride in. With most chassis upgrades it brings up the road noise. And, on long drives it can drive anyone nuts. Good example would be aftermarket sway bars, now running over a quarter can be felt inside the cabin.
It wasn't that had to install, although, with a car lift it will be a whole lot easier. The front underbody cover will need to be trimmed in order for the racing brace to fit. For the one on the back, you would need to support both wheels once chassis bolts are removed. Truthfully, I ended up taking to a FS Tunning just to save time.
If you ask me if it was worth it, hell yeah! I love how connected and planted both rear and front of the car.
Taking it to Tail of the Dragon soon for a real driving test.

No diff brace. I don't believe it will be that useful when it comes to daily driving. Another 0.1 of a second after , lol

Do you have to remove the front brace to change the oil? Also, did it come with bolts, or did the existing bolts work?

Original bolts work without any issues. There will be no need to remove the front brace during oil changes , as it sits near secondary cats. You'll be fine. Let me search for the shop pictures after install.

There you go. It should give a better perspective of how it looks installed.

If anyone decides to go with Ultra braces, make sure to use - Enter coupon code URDEAL during checkout to receive 10.00% off each item you purchase! If that doesn't work email at sales@ultraracing-usa.com
It does take 2-3 weeks to receive new toys. Hang tight.

Thanks for the pictures. These are, by far, the best pictures of the installed braces that I've seen. Im going to check with them to see if they fit Genesis G70.

I am planning to do everything suspension related. Have the diff brace but haven't installed it yet. I Will let you know if I have any issues. All the reviews i have seen seem pretty positive, I don't know of anyone with an oil seal issue.

Sadly, in a dark rainy night just early this week, I didn't see a curb in the middle of a plaza entrance/exit dividing the two sides and as I curved in, i was too left and hit/bounced, rode that curb on and off, as I was curving right into the plaza...
Shop can't do the alignment until I replace the bent shocks. Left one that took the hit I get, but confused of why the right one is slightly bent and needs changing too ? (alignment guy is not my mechanic and knows he's not doing that work), so he didn't lie to just do more work..
But anyways, I need front shocks. I should get a quote from the dealership tomorrow. Pretty sure warranty wouldn't cover it, as mechanic will know this can't be a manufacturer defect, and that I must of hit a curb or something.
Any one know where to buy them as well for less than what the dealer may want for them ?
Electronic adjustable type.
I don't want to change to after market unless they are the same or more comfortable ride. I don't want a more bumpy sporty handling ride..
I assume these will not be easy to come by ?

Looks like these are the OEM part numbers for the AWD ECS front struts, with electronic dampening:

54660-J5570 (Right side)
54650-J5570 (Left Side)

You can Google those numbers to cross check your dealer's quote against the usual U.S. online discount supplier/dealers, but they don't look cheap. Lowest price I saw doing a quick check was about 500 USD each, before exchange rate, shipping, and import costs. (Parts only). :(

If your set on OEM then give me your zip code and I will see how much it will cost you from Korea. Put up some pics of the damages so that we can all cry a little

Also it's best to do shocks/springs in pairs, even if the other isn't damaged. The damage should have been from rapidly changing load angle.

Insurance claim might be a good option

What happened to your LF wheel? Surely it didn't escape unscathed.
No, it's got a nice scrape. Not bent or no visible dent.. Just a nice scrape. rear wheel slightly scraped as I came off the curb. I don't care about the cosmetic looks of my rims. Not that I am happy about it, but I can live with that and not Spend $ on rims.. as long as they're still safe condition.

Amazing, that your hit was hard enough to bend a shock (two??) and yet not bend the rim(s). Incredible.

My mechanic will look at it later this week. Alignment guy and my guy doesn't know why the right side is off ? I was only going maybe max 30 kms pulling right into a plaza. Odd. driving it, it feels just fine and smooth. No noticeable difference, except for the alignment being off.
maybe the right side was a wee bit off from previous pothole or something ?
anyway, I'm looking for advice on places that sell shocks.
Do the shocks come on their own, or will it be a kit with other parts ?

Any after market shocks that are same or better for same or less cost ? Again, with not making the ride more stiff. I believe it handles good enough for my driving needs and want to keep the comfort it has. a tad softer feel is better than the other way.

AAhhh.. NO. That would be recorded as an at fault, and insurance rates jump and cost thousands over the next 5-6 years... it's not smart to do that !!!.
Rather just suck it up and buy new and put it behind me.. Aarrghh.. dumb luck..

My mechanic is surprised if thats the case. He's never seen that and will check it out, when he's free to check it out. Maybe that is just a bit off from a past pot hole ? who knows. Any mechanics on here ?
I'm guessing I was dong max 30 km/hr. curving into the entrance way, so would of hit the curb on angle, less than 45 degrees, as I was curving in.
Kia Dealer said $1233 plus tax and another one said they can do $1,050 plus tax for one.
Can't afford that at all right now, so going to have to find a used one from someone here who's changing theirs out or somewhere.
