Good Surprise Surprise - Buy Offer on Vroom

Still waiting to hear that they received the paperwork I sent back to them. They stated it was still in-transit it so I would guess today or tomorrow.

Next step is setting up the time for them to pick it up. So far, easy process. Little more time consuming than I would like but she was upfront about the process taking 12 days to complete because of their volume currently.

That's extremely low. Probably because of the miles. They'll probably make a 4 pounder off of it. If you don't know car sales lingo, it means $4k over what they gave you.
I think its low because I hit a deer and its on the carfax. I could be wrong though. It could be the mileage. But it seems like everyone else is getting offers higher than mine, so that's my theory.

I see a lot of excited people on this thread. Does anyone else think that the prices for new cars will be going much higher, instead of prices for used ones going lower??

You should have forced the deer’s insurance to pay you the “diminished value” amount.

The trend is inflation over each year. Currently, people realized that buying a low mileage used vehicle is much more cost effective than buying new. I, as in we, are lucky that the value of our Stinger's are holding and increasing. That's why I don't bother with middle of the road cars due to them being a dime a dozen and not holding value.

Used car prices are at their peak and will fall probably in the next 3-4 months. With the restrictions being lifted from COVID, more money floating a round, and people's awareness of car buying, it'll hang on for a while but everything "falls down" at some point. Hopefully not too hard like 2008/2009.

Received a confirmation email regarding the pick-up of the car. They gave me a carrier name and that they would be contacting me in 2-3 days about a time and location.

Thinking early next week and hopefully a check by Friday. So far, so good....

I’ve sold 3 vehicles to Vroom in the past and all were pleasant experiences. The only downside was at the time I lived in a narrow subdivision. I had to meet the pickup driver around the corner at CVS and walk home lol.

Dealing with a strictly online vendor does mean that sometimes paperwork gets jacked up. In my experience, they are quick to FedEx revised paperwork. They always provided payoff checks within 2 days of pickup via FedEx even if all the paperwork wasn’t yet in order.

Vroom isn’t as new to the vehicle game as people think. They’re not like Carvana or Shift, or the now defunct Beepi. They’re not Silicon Valley based. Vroom acquired Texas Direct Auto who had been selling cars online exclusively through eBay and their website since 2002. When Vroom acquired them in 2015, they adopted most of their existing infrastructure and business processes.

earlier this week I got a quote from VROOM for $34,500 for my 21 GT AWD with 2400 miles. I put in my info again this morning and it's up to $38,000. Crazy.

For a '21? odd. May have to do with location. Still a good amount but I wonder why the jump over a week's period.

I got an offer of $37,100 for my 21 GT Line with 800 miles from Auto Lender GO, talk about crazy.
I sold my 2019 GT2 to Vroom for that much last month. That is just crazy that they offered you that much for the 4 cylinder model. I would sell that car in a heartbeat if it is way more than you owe. There are still some 2021 Stingers out there with massive discounts.

I paid 34k out the door so I’m considering it. I’ll basically be getting paid 3k to drive the car for a month.

Do it. It'll never happen again in your life.
I’m doing the virtual inspection tomorrow so I’m curious if they’re going to try and bring down the price or not. I found a GT and GT1, both 2018 CPOs, as possible replacements. As much as I know I don’t need the V6 I’m tempted to pick one up in the GT Lines place.

You'll drive one and love it. For me, it's about having it and not using it rather than not having it and longing for it...

That may be prevalent in more areas in my life than one....lol

So I guess their initial price was optimistic, after the virtual inspection they offered me 34k which is basically break even. Makes my decision much harder, it would be tough to go from a brand new car to a three year old one for the same price.
