Good Surprise Surprise - Buy Offer on Vroom

I wouldn’t take anything to Carmax, at least not by me. When I was looking to move up and trade/sell my last car I played dumb and they offered me “rough book” thinking I was desperate to sell. I asked how they arrive at their values and they told me that their algorithm is very precise blah blah...yet they had a car on the same lot, same model, year, with 9000 more miles for 2.5 x their offer to me!
I told them to pound sand and sold my car for twice what they offered.. my family is in the car business 30+ years and wasn’t about to get picked off by some rando Carmax appraiser.
Haha love it! :D

Okay so looks like either Vroom or Carvanna... hopefully I'm not late on the draw comes June/July for the car! :p

Has anyone actually sold their car to them? I got a great offer, 2-3k above other places. I hear Vroom can be hit or miss and the market you are in plays a factor. I have been looking to sell for the past month and if I can get that much more I'll definitely go that route.

I'm seriously about to sell and hold off until the 400z comes out.
I have three more days to confirm if I want to sell it to them to lock in the price they gave me. I am torn guys... I love the car but I love money, making money that is. And the market is going to come down at some point so it's better to sell high now than to sell low later.

Do it. The used car market is at its peak. If it goes any higher, that's just the harder it's going to fall. Keep an eye on stocks. If there is consistent decline over a month or so, all other markets will follow.

This is the first and likely last time you’ll make money on a used car sale ( not private sale no less)… outside of a collectors car.

do it

F@$k it, I'm doing it. If I regret it later, I'll buy another. Lady I spoke with two days ago stated they are backed up and that the whole process should take no more than 12 days. I'm alright with that. The sooner I get it off my hands, the less time I can revert my decision.... 12 days is a long time.

I'll keep everybody updated on the process. Currently submitting my information.

Pardon the French, big deal here boys

Submitted the finance information and registration. Confirmation stated I should receive an email or a package in the mail for contracts. Sh*t just got real. Already looking for a replacement lol

More to come...

I sold my car to Vroom 3 weeks ago. Easiest process ever. I would definitely use them again. You can back out at almost any point I believe. Until you hand the car to them it isn’t a done deal.

ughhhhhhh..vroom just offered me 39,900 for my 2018 GT2 with 21,000 miles....100 dollars less than I paid for it 25 months ago.....

They offered me like 26k I'm weak.
2019 gt2 awd 25k miles.

Carvana was 28k

Kbb is instant cash is 31k

Private is "38-44k"

I paid 35k and then another 2-3k. Hell I even got every piece of black chrome on this car replaced under warranty.

True car offer is 36k

Paid 35 and can sell it privately for 38-44...good deal there! These prices are crazy. Rare opportunity to sell a used car for a profit.

lol I need to convince hubby to let me post the corvettes, firebirds, camaros we have laying around to vroom

Keeping my stinger, like it too much

Are you guys putting that you have a loan on it and that there are no modifications done when going through the questions?
Yes I did... I gave all honest answers on the questionnaire to make sure there are no issues, if I decide to sell it to Vroom.

I answered yes to the Loan, and answered yes to Mods, and told them what mods are installed by checking off the items on their list.

Oddly, Carvana offered me about $7k less. They had the lowest offer. They may have higher stock availability...

Im going to sell it, I ran it and they offered me 39k. I didnt pay that much back in december. Just gotta push the submit button and take the wheels, exhaust and intakes off. I have a mazda as a daily and a GTO for fun.

I’ve been watching the offers from Vroom and Carvana for the past couple of months for my 2019 RWD GT1. Initially they were both offering a bit under my buyout, but it has gone up by 3k since then. Carvana is at buyout right now, with Vroom at 3k and change over that.
Probably will check Carmax for laughs in the next week.

Just waiting for the Stinger’s replacement to arrive (finally on the way!) and then Vroom can have my car. :D

Is this crazy uptick in prices mostly for Stingers though?
Nope, my buddy with a 2016 ATS did the offer and they offered a few grand over KBB for his too.

Crazy pricing. Have a 2020 GT1 with a little over 12k miles and got this price.
Here is what is really crazy. I have a 2021 fully loaded AWD GT2 with 940 miles on it. They would only give me $44k for my 1 month old $55k sticker car. The prices vary DRASTICALLY by location and model.

I got a crazy high offer of $54k for my 2019 Expedition today. That is significantly above what I owe on it.
