Out of curiosity did you make them remove the dealership badging on the rear before you took delivery?

Oh yeah, after I drove it off the showroom floor for it's first fill-up. 
Don't like stickers on the paint for any reason. I'll never cover up the paint with vinyl or anything like that either.
I may swap the badges for Korean 'E' logo but that's about it for body tweaks. Definitely getting windows tinted soon, and then I haven't decided about performance yet. Still waiting to see what happens with the market, how sturdy the engine really is, etc.
I don't mind waiting a little while, look at what we have to drive anyway!!

Just got off the phone with kia n.a., there is no way of knowing what # yellow stinger you have other than gathering all the vin's and seeing where you fall in the production of the cars. Basically, like was posted elsewhere, it is a marketing ploy to sell cars. If they include yellow in the 2019's, we, as yellow owners, would have to do our own recording to show that we were of the original 400. So, as I asked the customer service guy, I overpaid for the yellow. I could have gotten a gt2 with all the doodads for the same money instead of a yellow gt. He didn't answer that. He did say that dealers are encouraged to NOT overprice the yellows, but we all know how that worked out. Very disappointed in kia. Not that the Mrs and I won't enjoy our car, or drive the snot it of it, but it would have been nice to be able to have collectors insurance on our stinger. So I guess that just leaves one thing left to do.......mod the bleep out of it. Also, the Atlantica, when it is introduced, will have a plate on fenders saying it is one of 500, but will not list the individual sequence of production on it according to the service guy. So, even that one isnt going to be rare since the badges are easily purchased. It will be upon us as buyers to do our research on any used vehicle in the future. Sad really.

Out of curiosity, why would which of the limited 400 was made first matter? Would that increase resale value somehow? If someone is looking to buy a used yellow 2018 Stinger GT2 AWD, would they drive two states over and pay more for the one that was 192/400 as opposed to the nearby one that's 238/400? Also, if they add yellow to the standard colors for 2019 you'll still be able to tell yours apart due to the Kia/Hyundai parts bin "Limited" badge. Also the fact that it's a 2018 instead of a 2019.
I guess as someone who wanted a yellow GT1 since long before the car was released, I'm coming at it from the perspective of Kia doing a stupid thing disallowing yellow in the USA, then partially correcting their mistake by allowing 400 of them at only two trim levels. As opposed to ignoring the rest of the world getting yellow and just thinking these 400 Limited Sunset Yellows are super special. It'd still be the best color Stinger regardless of how many there are

I'm wondering how many GT AWD's were made. Will it raise the value, probably not, but it's a nice to know thing. Car enthusiasts like to know this stuff. It might not matter now, but the first 6 cylinder Mustang just sold for a cool 400,000.. that person never thought it would be worth that either. The very first 2019 Mustang Bullitt just sold for a cool 300,000..so, you never know.

Well that's a very good point. Although I imagine it'd be a different story if the 2019 Mustang Bullitt already had a few thousand units kicking around in other countries. Was that at a charity auction? I know the first new Corvette ZR1 sold for almost a million at one a while back, and I can't imagine spending so much on a car that's no different from ones you can walk into a dealer and pick up under MSRP in several months, but then again I'm not rich enough to be able to give hundreds of thousands to charity, so it's a nice gesture.

i probably didn't explain myself correctly, when you purchase a car, any car, some people see it as a means of transportation, that's cool. nothing wrong with that. others use it as a status symbol. that's cool also. but, then you have car people who will find that perfect car, not in the sense that they will keep it to make money off of it later on, but, in the sense that they don't want to see themselves driving down the street. neighbor who buys the same exact car as you, no difference. now, take the stinger, we know it was the first year, we know that it would sell well, but that we wouldn't be seeing a whole lot of them right off the bat. add in the fact that they marketed a limited yellow stinger. only 400, and those same car people jumped at it. for everyone who has seen a stinger in the wild, and owns a yellow one, how many yellows have you seen? me, other than looking out the window, none. i have seen exactly two, one micro blue and the other a base stinger in black. i converse with other yellow owners right here on the forum, we are all an eclectic bunch. but, when i am sold a limited vehicle and find out that it isn't as limited as i thought, or that it was a marketing ploy, i get upset. i have owned collector cars, classics and new classics. the judges, the ss's, zl1's, zr1's, the shelby's, etc. all of those cars had papers to show that they were something special. that way, it was up to me, as the buyer/owner, if i wanted to drive it and accumulate mileage or keep it in a plastic bubble and sell it for a profit 30 years from now. we purchased the car because the mrs liked the color, but hey, it might be a collectors car later on. cool! bully for us! doesn't mean i am not going to drive it fast nor baby it. but it did mean that i wasn't going to do any mechanical work to it that could not be reversed if and when we chose to sell it. now, that i know it isn't as special or rare as we thought, modifying it for maximum performance is now on the table since i don't have to worry about it. i know, i am weird, but, the mrs is a star trek fanatic and collects her doodads and goes to the conventions and i have my cars. when i croak, she can sell them and retire to a small island in the pacific and live off of the proceeds for years. that's why i don't eat her cooking and sleep with one eye open.

I agree with Weareblondi. I didn't get a red, black, blue, etc b/c I wanted something that I won't see 10 of driving to work. I have seen 2 on the road, both blue. 1 where I work and 1 going the opposite way on the highway a couple of days ago. Everyone thinks the yellow is an awesome color and I don't want it to become 'just' another Stinger color. I didn't buy the car to collect and make money on later, but I did get it for the uniqueness of the color.

I posted a list of yellow limited vins that I had accumulated. I went through all that I could find online through an unnamed auto listing website and recorded it in a spreadsheet. Initially, I wanted to get an idea of what # I was, and thought it would be useful to have an official record of the original 400 sunset yellow stingers that could be shared and edited by anyone. The link that I posted earlier allows you to add your vin to the list, I encourage everyone to participate so we can determine our true number.

South Austin Kia has their Yellow Stinger marked down with one of those big orange price tags...so no price gouging there. Got my Stinger from them and they were really good people.

We would only know our production number. Kia doesn't record what number yellow we are. I posted this in a thread after speaking with kia north america.
