yes they are actually under where the side rail and rear bar running perpendicular to them meet except for the last one I couldn't fit so that's why it's sticking out like thatTowel stays in place sunroof open??
, great , can you pls post a few pics to show where/how you accomplished this ...edit I see you already posted pics .ThanksJust wanted add I seemed to have fixed mine. My rattle got progressively worse to where I could hear it even when it was open all the way, which it did not do before and with music playing. I saw a guy that made a youtube vid january of 2021 that said he stuffed thin clothes along the front, but my rattle sounded as if it was coming from the back. I went to the dollar store and bought a pack of face towels and stuffed them under the back rails. Now open or closed I dont hear anything but my MBRP exhaust which is very nice. Im glad I didnt waste time or money at the dealer. Literally $1 to fix.
Don't the face cloths block the track that the interior sunshade runs along? I took a look, and it looked like it would jam that up to me.
I agree. Don't use it enough to warrant the noise problems that these sunroofs are causing. If I had the choice when I bought it, I definitely would have deleted it.Sorry, I was replying to Socalstinger. More on point, I wish Kia offered a sunroof delete option on the GT1 and GT2. The number of times I've opened the sunroofs on my current cars? Zero.
Where is this dealer?just wanted to update. the rattle came back lol. so I just went ahead and took it to my dealer. I was dreading it based on others experiences with this issue but I must say I am very pleased with the results. my technician was great. he said it's just a design flaw by kia. he said there is a gap between the glass and frame or something and the lubricant they use also will dry out after some time. so what he did was remove the glass, tighten everything thing down, lube everything up with some after market stuff they had, and added these rubber spacers and fabric cushioning all around the frame to close the gap where he thought parts could be rubbing. then we went on a test drive and let me tell you it's like night and day. we went over bumps, drove slow and fast, and while it is not 100% gone, the noise is only about 5% of what it was. I found this to be a better solution than having them replace the whole thing which may not have fixed it. I was in and out in less than two hours and if it's something I need to go in and have done once or twice a year I'm ok with that though hopefully this is all that is needed. I'm a big music lover and the reason I finally got fed up with this is because I started to be able to hear rattles and creaks over the music. This has been the only flaw this car has that actually bothered me so I'm very happy for it to be resolved for now.

Sounds like Kia need to add it to their maintenance schedule. Replace oil, filter, tighten sunroof.just wanted to update. the rattle came back lol. so I just went ahead and took it to my dealer. Gone temporarily you mean....or will find out soon enough. Sorry. There are multiple sources for sunroof noises, but here's a description of the noise mine made and the fix.
Mine made a ticking noise. Mainly when driving over small bumps at low speed. Pressing up on the headliner's edge where it meets the sunroof would reproduce the noise. So would pushing down on the sunroof glass from the outside.
I opened up the sunroof completely. There was some dust accumulation at the edge of the glass. I cleaned it thoroughly, as well as the weather seal it makes contact with when closed.
I then used a very thin layer of silicone lubricant along the edges of the sunroof glass and the weather seal. The noise is gone completely.
It’s been gone for a while now. If a good silicone lubricant (not petroleum-based) is used, there’s no reason this particular problem should return too soon. I don’t doubt that with time, more dust will accumulate between the glass and weather seal, and eventually I’ll need to reapply. Pretty quick and easy fix, though, and part of living with a large sunroof (I’d rather they be optional on higher-trim cars).Gone temporarily you mean....or will find out soon enough. Sorry.
This made me re-examine the sunroof area a little more closely and I noticed for the first time that there is a very thin rubber seal going around the edge of the entire sunroof opening on the roof of the car. Previously I had only been lubricating the larger seals around the sunroof frame. Applied a liberal amount of shinetsu on these for the very first time and seemed to help quite a bit. Now, if different rattles come up such as sunroof track or grab handle, that wouldn’t surprise me.
