My ears start to get uncomfortable at volume 10! Either I have sensitive ears or that’s the US system!
I called my contact at Kia also and he said the 3 speakers in the front door also, however I think Oxid365 is correct. Look at the pictures on the website for the GT vs the GT1 you can clearly see the mid speaker is missing on the GT. This should be easy to verify, i am surprised Kia can't tell me the right answer. I guess it is possible that Oxide365 got subs and others did not but that seems odd that the pictures would also show 2 speakers instead of 3.i can confirm no 3 on the front door, qty 2: tweeter and low door only on my base GT
Keep in mind English D confirmed it via the Kia rep or the spec sheet. Oxide365 can literally count the speakers in his door. I trust he can distinguish 2 from 3.So English D has confirmed 3 speakers in each front door, and oxide365 has confirmed 2 in each. Glad that's settled! I'd be inclined to believe both Kia's website and service tech, if I hadn't just been through about 10 months of miscommunication and misinformation from Kia.
The whole convo was about the GT not GT1 or GT2 getting subs which at least I know now they do not. but now it's got me thinking the external amp is rear mounted inside right rear so maybe adding the subs is going to be a lot easier and now I wonder if a second amp would be needed maybe the base amp could power those? So English D has confirmed 3 speakers in each front door, and oxide365 has confirmed 2 in each. Well you know they don't have subs and the front doors have three speakers, but the rest of us are just seeing contradictory reports so we're still unsure. But at least you're saying that if the site is accurate, the front doors have 3 speakers each and no subs, you believe the holes and grates for the subs are present in the base GT anyway, so you could just find aftermarket subs the same size and install them, hopefully using the included amp but if not you're get an extra amp too. It sounds like a great plan and I'd be interested to know what you end up doing. The whole convo was about the GT not GT1 or GT2 getting subs which at least I know now they do not. but now it's got me thinking the external amp is rear mounted inside right rear so maybe adding the subs is going to be a lot easier and now I wonder if a second amp would be needed maybe the base amp could power those?
we are getting there my info was from a buddy of mine who is a service director he sent me that info from his parts system he took a pic from his phone hence the bad pic,Well you know they don't have subs and the front doors have three speakers, but the rest of us are just seeing contradictory reports so we're still unsure. well until now we were having problems trying to figure it all out and help each other out with this and we have been taking about this for week or so as it related to problems with sub, where have you been the whole time... I have not been notified by an admin that we are off topic. thanks for you inputSorry guys but this thread is about owners that have issues with cars that have the subwoofers. If you want to discuss the cars that don’t have subs and want to install them then I think you should start your own thread.
lol I thought you took off the panel and counted I see a tweeter and the in the bottom of the door a large speaker panel who knows what is behind it...Maybe counting can be tough. So I takes photo
That is what the website shows as well, so the fact remains that if the GT does not have subs then it has 7 speakers and not 9 as listed. Either way the website is incorrect. It either has 7 or has the subs or 2 mystery speakers that have yet to be located.Maybe counting can be tough. So I takes photo
I am trying to figure out which cars actually have the subwoofers. This is proving more difficult than it should be.Yes I know but the last 2 pages have been going on about how many speakers you have in GTs with no subwoofers installed. How does that solve the subwoofers not working issue?
And by the way I have been reading this thread as I get email alerts so I have been here all the time and add what I can when relevant.
It does clearly state subwoofer issues not I don’t have subwoofers and want them or how many speakers do I have. It is very easy to get off topic and water down an informative thread.
Not saying your discussion is not ok it I just feel it needs to be under a different thread name.
