not sure? you?
I'm planning West Palm Beach, Cars and Coffee, July 8th. It's in the Southeast Florida Forum thread.not sure? you?
Sorry, you have me connected with the wrong meet. Will not do north in the winter. I have flown into Detroit for the auto show, just to see the show, but did not enjoy the weather. Left Michigan for Florida in 1968, never looked back.chicago, detroit we shall see.
Looks like a lot of good options and maybe we can start narrowing down our top 5. Seems like most suggested central USA and nowhere with snow as our best choices. That means CO, KS, and MO are the top states for summertime centralized locations. If closer to fall/winter then it may be better to go further south. Is that a fair compromise to everyone so far?
I would be partial to a Texas location such as Dallas/Fort Worth area since that is central to most of the US. Really any central US location is best, however DFW is central located for driving distance from LA, Atlanta, Florida, Chicago. All of these are 10 - 20 hour routes.Okay, well, we're going to start in the U.S. because most of our members are here. With a little strategic planing - we can also make this easily accessible to our brothers and sisters to the north in Canada.
We also have a large Australian presence here - so perhaps every other year we'll have a separate event "down under". Or, perhaps, we can figure out a way to have StingerFest there simultaneously...
In the meantime, we need to figure out where in the U.S. we're going to have StingerFest take place. We need to throw around a few ideas and then start a poll...
I think it would be best to have the event somewhere central/north'ish so that it's not TOO far a hike for anyone to come.
If we were to have it where I live in Florida, that makes it a challenge for anyone in California, New York and the central/northern U.S. - and it goes without saying - that would be quite a hike for anyone in Canada.
Same goes for Texas. California would make it difficult for anyone in New York, and New York would make it difficult for anyone in California. So we need to try and be fair and make this as easy as possible for as many people as possible.
I think Nebraska or Iowa might actually make the most sense...
But that's me! I want to hear/see your thoughts and all come to an agreement on where it would be best to host StingerFest...
Thank you!
