Stinger vs public opinion

i
Yep, I'm a bit OCD about things like that, balanced in the middle looks less awkward but I'm not trying to be picky because we don't want to start another kia war this time based on " the position of one's plate ";)
I would prefer to have No plate on the front bumper, the front end would look so much more attractive.:)

Is not having a front plate where you live a first or secondary offense? Because in UT we have the law that two plates are required: but not having a second plate isn't a first offense, i.e. you can't be cited for only that: the cop can tack "no second plate" onto a first offense if s/he chooses to. So, if you don't get cited, you won't risk getting in trouble not having a front plate. :)
They can pull you over for it rarely do. In NJ two plates are required but I notice a lot of cars around only have the back plate on. It’s like tinted windows on our front windows your not supposed to do it it is illegal but ‍Cops rarely pull you over for it.

Nobody should be allowed to drive a Stinger with an off centre plate - it's wrong and immoral.

I've always been a loyal Korean car fanboy no matter what, but I do still respect the opinions of people who love Nissans or Lexuses or BMWs or Audis or any other car brand.
I started off with a used 2013 Veloster Turbo as my first car, which was sold cheap at the time. It was my bad that I didnt take it to a CarScan and discovered later that the turbo doesnt function properly, especially at full throttle. Luckily I got a refund made from the person forcibly by the local used car website here www.dubbizle.com, and I spent that money on a used 2012 Optima SX. The Veloster was pretty darn good and performed well to say the least, with grippy handling, a funky styling, and packing some punch there. I'd have stayed with the Veloster if it didnt have that issue.
Now I'm on the verge to buying my Stinger in full as soon as I get my salaries in full and a finally new car from the dealership. Also got a list of mods to do. And man do I feel proud cuz I'm on the right track of being a loyal Korean fanboy that never went Japanese or German.

I have always enjoyed owning different types of cars that did not fit the norm. I purchased a Dodge Magnum RT AWD when they came out. It handled well. Was very quick, could haul 4 adults in comfort and had plenty of storage space. I was told I was driving a mafia mobile or a hearse as they drove their Mercedes Benz. Then they sat in it and rode with me as I put the car through its paces and winding roads. And they said it handled better than their MB. Then when I told them the undercarriage and suspension used the same MB parts it shut them down. When the Charger went to the new body style and it was a love it or leave it, I bought an RT max AWD. Now it is the cool 4 door sports car. When it came time for another replacement and Dodge did away with the V8 AWD, I started looking at other cars.

We owned Optima and Sportages before and i was surprised with the good fit and finish for the price, it led me to check out the GT2 AWD. I am glad I did and bought one. People are impressed and surprised about it. I met a colleague for a meeting and he said nice car, then he saw the KIA badge and asked if I put them on as a joke. Then we took it for a spin. He said the fit and finish is on par with the upper level cars and now he believes in them too. I enjoy placing the car in eco and taking a nice cruise or trip. Then when I need more spirited driving it feels like a different car in sport mode. I am converting them one at a time!

Reverse prejudice: decades ago, I was informed by someone who seemed to know, that getting a BMW turns everyone into a**holes. I tucked that away and never forgot it (obviously!:)). It is telling, that my prejudice has been reinforced TWICE in four road trips: the only two excesses I have been guilty of ("excesses" translated to: extra legal speed) were prompted by BMWs acting like asshats. I took after them and made sure they discovered that this KIA cannot be shaken off. I succeeded. The first took some convincing; pretty much an hour's worth; the second figured it out in under a minute.

I do not judge people by their cars. But both were BMWs. Oh, and the first instance involved a third driver in, you guessed it, another BMW. So for a while I was a Stinger sandwich between these two Bimmers. The rest of the time I watched the two of them going at it, and kept them in view handily. When the initiator (a BMW i8, btw) finally had enough, and pulled over to the right lane and slowed to "civilized" speed, I passed and got a look at the driver; and the asshat was a girl, with long, straight beach bleached blond hair.

All the talk on here about "badge snobs" is reverse snobbery. I don't mind admitting and pointing it out. :p
Buying a BMW does not turn anyone into an arse. Buying a BMW simply confirms that your mother birthed one.

Oo! That's harsh. We have a number of BMW owners on here. You might want to reconsider, or not, depending. :P

So, you got a car with blinker fluids that works? :D

over my head bud ??
I suspect he's alluding to the (justified) stereotype that says BMW drivers don't signal. Ever.

And yes, I've had a 7, 5, and 3-series myself. Considering an M5 later on...and I will likely suffer blinker fluid problems too. When in Rome.

I never was a DICK driver when I owned BMWs ..................but I certainly saw lots of " ill behaved" BMW drivers mostly low end 3 series drivers

Yep. Though I've always seen Lexus as the worst, edging out Mercedes (and yes, I've had one of them too). But perhaps that's been a local phenomenon where I've lived. Who can say?

Drivers being dicks because they are in a performance car: The perverse thing about me in my Stinger is that I enjoy driving fast or slow. If I get behind a slow vehicle, I just flop into slow-mo, fade back and enjoy the ride. Just being IN my Stinger is enjoyable. I've never felt a need or desire to show off. Very strange.

I like to think of it as sharing the wonderful sound of MBRP at WOT with the slower folk.

After owning my BMW for almost 2-1/2 months, I can attest that there are likely 2 camps of "dick" BMW drivers. Number 1 is those who will always drive like a dick in any car they drive or own because they like hooning and performance cars, I fall in this camp. The second type is the person that buys the car for the badge and feels some sense of entitlement simply because their car was overpriced, lol.

Keep in mind that most BMW's are biased towards performance and very few are actually slow. Even a lower end 3 series still pulls a sub 6 second 0-60 and is tuned more on the sporty end of chassis balance. In the right hands and mindset, a person is much more likely to drive a sporty car hard than say, a SUV. Combine sportiness with a badge with a reputation like BMW's and you have instant stigma. I don't take offense to any of it though, I only bought a BMW because it fit the exact bill of what I wanted - basically a small coupe with strong performance and a good sounding engine for a price I could afford. Miata and FRS just didn't cut it performance wise, and AWD was a bonus for winter, there just simply isn't another car in North America that meets the specs of the M240i, everything is bigger or less powerful.
