Hey Jasem, I haven't heard from you in a long time. How's life treating you?
I called the dealer today, beacuse I couldn't handle the suspense. And they told me that the car will arrive at the showroom tomorrow afternoon, I will go and check the car, and finish all the paper work, and hopefully.. hopefully I can take this baby the day after (Thursday). Because if not, I'll have to wait till Sunday because of the weekend. For those who don't know, our weekends here are Friday and Saturday.
So once again, finger crosses that I can take out the dealer this Thursday so I can enjoy the weekend with it. Wish us luck !!
Your exactly rightAhemmmm, you mean you and Huda can enjoy the car together....![]()
Your exactly right
If we get it on Thursday, we're going to enjoy the hell out of the it together in the weekend.. we're planning to follow the exact break-in process this weekend, to make sure the car is is properly prepared for future roads..
Also aiming to hit the 1,000 KM mark on this weekend baring in mind each and every detail of break-in process - I just love this phase of a new car - I know sometimes it becomes overwhelming, but thats just a part of thr perks that I like. I'm kinda OCD in such stuff, unlike my wife @Huda, so let's say that I'll try keeping her off the wheel until we hit that thousand mark..

Joseph, you crack me up!![]()
I've already read the user manual, and know all the above, except I have not heard anything about putting it in sport mode? It is only mentioned to set it between 2k and 4k. Thats all.As stated elsewhere, to keep the RPMs between 2K and 4K (for the first 600 miles), run it in Sport mode. I never took mine out of Sport mode for the first 600 miles. Go easy on the brakes during this time also so that they seat properly. Don't use Launch Control during this time. And "lively" acceleration is discouraged: if you don't go above 4K RPM, your acceleration will be moderate enough. You will have this baby broken in over a single weekend, by the sound of things!![]()
Precisely that. It almost idles at 2K RPM in Sport mode. (slight exaggerationThe reason he mentions putting it in sport mode, is because the transmission will hold the gears higher in the RPM range, therefore making it easy to stay in the 2k and 4k range.
let pick your mind a little more.. what if I customize the "Custom Mode" to be all in comfort except the transmutation gear in Sport. this way I'll be able to achieve the high RPMs without stressing out other functions like the dumpers, steering wheel... etc.Precisely that. It almost idles at 2K RPM in Sport mode. (slight exaggeration)
@Salman You can do that as well, no problem. It will take some time but it will work. However one thing to keep in mind is that, IIRC once to turn off the car after being on Custom mode it will change back to Comfort mode. You will need to put it back in custom. I don't think you have that problem if you use Sport mode. It will stay there even after turning the car off.
