Tried to get my (loan) GT to do a burnout. Tried turning off traction then also ESC, sport mode, manual shift to 1, floor it and it still doesn't spin then. Like it's actually giving it part throttle then a few milliseconds later it gives it full throttle.
This has got to be the computer getting in the way and stopping the fun...?
Tried a little bit of brake and mashing the throttle and of course that just initiated launch control.
It did break loose once when taking off turning rights at some lights but I really want to spin the tyres in a straight line.
When I took my car to the drag strip, I had the second stage traction off and I would do the burnout in comfort mode, but I couldn't get it to pass 3k rpms +/- while trying to do the burnout, I would try to gradually release the brakes in an effort to try to get the rpm's to increase, but no use. After releasing the brakes while still at WOT the car would immediately redline and continue spinning and shift into second and redline again, sometimes even going into 3rd and bogging, it was enough to get the tires warmed up and dry.
The car has a lot of safety feature in place including torque management, hopefully a tune will give us the option to turn these safety features off.

The ECU/TCU automatically cuts power if it senses the brake while hitting the throttle. You can defeat that with a few options. BMS brake switch allows you to add boost at launch and turn the burnout ability on and off. Most people just pull the ABS or brake fuse, but a few people figured out how to do it without changing anything. It’s tricky but supposedly if you floor it and lightly ease into the brake it will spin and stay in place. Here’s one example of my boy that did it that way.Must be the tyres. I never get wheel spin![]()
WTF! There is no way mine can achieve that. Is that stock? Even in the water box at the drags I can barely get it to spin. The ECU/TCU automatically cuts power if it senses the brake while hitting the throttle. You can defeat that with a few options. Nigel Carson on Instagram: “A proper send off! I had a little more tire left so why not another Which one is your favorite? #stingergt #kiastinger #burnout…”
Did you pull the brake fuse, if not it’s really hard to do and ECU will usually cut power if you hit the brake & gas simultaneously.WTF! There is no way mine can achieve that. Is that stock? Even in the water box at the drags I can barely get it to spin.
Dammit....think I'm going to have to go into the fuse box next timeDid you pull the brake fuse, if not it’s really hard to do and ECU will usually cut power if you hit the brake & gas simultaneously.
No, I don’t know anyone with a stock Stinger, and almost all my buddies have a chip/tune which makes a huge difference in power.
