Stinger burnout/line lock

What mods chucky? Do you have the bms brake hack that I'm now learning about or just talking about power upgrade mods?
No sir, only performance mods are Borla exhaust, Injen intakes and Eibach sway bars. Check out my videos below
Here's a slo-mo:

Love it! I've done hundreds of burnouts /donuts in my old valiant (think dodge dart) and never been scared or worried about losing control. Will be a different story in my stinger! Thanks for the inspiration.

Unplug the brake plug but first u must have auto brake hold on. Cuz it’s a pain in the ass to do it while ur foot is on the brake. Also got to be in drive. And if u turn off the car while it’s disconnected u won’t be able to turn it on until u put it back in

Tried to get my (loan) GT to do a burnout. Tried turning off traction then also ESC, sport mode, manual shift to 1, floor it and it still doesn't spin then. Like it's actually giving it part throttle then a few milliseconds later it gives it full throttle.

This has got to be the computer getting in the way and stopping the fun...?

Tried a little bit of brake and mashing the throttle and of course that just initiated launch control.

It did break loose once when taking off turning rights at some lights but I really want to spin the tyres in a straight line.

That's turbo lag. Ideal would be to be able to launch with turbo boost; but the ECU limits engine to minimal boost and RPM. There are multiple forums trying to figure out hot to defeat this.

When I took my car to the drag strip, I had the second stage traction off and I would do the burnout in comfort mode, but I couldn't get it to pass 3k rpms +/- while trying to do the burnout, I would try to gradually release the brakes in an effort to try to get the rpm's to increase, but no use. After releasing the brakes while still at WOT the car would immediately redline and continue spinning and shift into second and redline again, sometimes even going into 3rd and bogging, it was enough to get the tires warmed up and dry.

The car has a lot of safety feature in place including torque management, hopefully a tune will give us the option to turn these safety features off.

How did you get it to do a warmup burnout?

You new guys just need a JB4 under hood .....and get ready for fun :) Wash

Not sure how the ECU is programmed but there is some nanny in there that cuts throttle while the brake is pressed unless you are doing the launch control sequence. That's why you have to bypass the brake sensor to do a burnout. I think it was something to do with the traction control system which doesnt appear to be fully defeatable. After reading this, it was pouring this morning so I decided to shut traction and stability off at a light, put it in sport mode, and floored it on green. As soon as all 4 wheels started to slip it cut throttle until it regained traction even with TC and SC off. Very strange.

Can the JB4 change any traction control properties? Like, completely turn it off?

The bms brake snip mentioned earlier gives 10-15 psi or more for uncontrollable burn out fun. Or just do a few mods and punch it. If i put my awd in rwd mode i cant get traction no matter what i do.

When I launch my 2.0 using launch control it always spinns the rear wheels if I keep the brake pedal pressed just a little. Especially with the winter tyres, it also goes a little sideways, like this. It only happens if I don't fully release the brake pedal.
I'm not even 100% sure if I have an LSD on mine (very unclear specs from Kia) but since at every launch it leaves 2 even marks I tend to think I do.IMG_9270.webp

Must be the tyres. I never get wheel spin :(
The ECU/TCU automatically cuts power if it senses the brake while hitting the throttle. You can defeat that with a few options. BMS brake switch allows you to add boost at launch and turn the burnout ability on and off. Most people just pull the ABS or brake fuse, but a few people figured out how to do it without changing anything. It’s tricky but supposedly if you floor it and lightly ease into the brake it will spin and stay in place. Here’s one example of my boy that did it that way.

WTF! There is no way mine can achieve that. Is that stock? Even in the water box at the drags I can barely get it to spin.

I installed the brake switch cut couple weeks ago...

Works like an old school muscle car. Turn off TC, hold the brake, mash the pedal, and instantly shave a thousand miles off the rear tires. :D

Did you pull the brake fuse, if not it’s really hard to do and ECU will usually cut power if you hit the brake & gas simultaneously.

No, I don’t know anyone with a stock Stinger, and almost all my buddies have a chip/tune which makes a huge difference in power.

Dammit....think I'm going to have to go into the fuse box next time :D
