Stinger Brake Pads Replacement

With the powerstop z26 I have a thunk sound when shifting between forward and reverse and braking once between those changes in direction (the pad is shifting in the caliper). This phenomenon is pretty well documented in a lot of car forums. For those of you with the EBC redstuff, have you had that experience?
I was told by the manufacture that they changed the stinger front pads about a year ago. If you have the old pads they will shift. They are sending me new ones right now and I’ll be putting them on Friday. I’ll keep you in the loop

The manufacturer changed the pads about a year ago because they were shifting. If you get the new ones they should not have the same problem. I would buy directly from an authorized retailer.

Is there a new part number to look for?

It is still 6012 but apparently it’s a new one. I’ll have the new box in a few days and I can get back to you

can you shoot a photo of the barcode on the box with the date on it? just want to see if mine are the newer size or not.

Edit: never mind. Called up powerstop and I'm getting a new front set. Mine had a manufacture date of 05/10/2021.

So MFG date of 05/10/2021 is the "old" sizing.
Did they tell you what was the cut in date for the "new" sizing?

New pads are in, probably 65% better. Not perfect but they work great. My rotors are completely seasoned now with two brake-ins

LOL I bought mine 5/13/21.

Maybe I should contact PowerStop... Hmmmm....

no, they just said there had been a manufacturing change and they were going to send out new pads, provided I sent in a receipt from an authorized vendor.

65% better at not making noise when changing direction from reverse to forward?

Or 65% better than ?

Mine doesn’t happen every time, but I’d say about half of the cold starts, especially if I’m creeping out slowly. I back into my garage and my parking spot at work, so I should hear it every time.

I just emailed PowerStop, so I'll see what happens.

Sorry, pretty much does it everytime changing direction and first application of the brakes.

The ‘clunking’ sound is reduced by 65%

Thanks for the clarification.

Unfortunately, sounds like they didn't really "fix" the fitment issue then.

So did I
Such a basic answer to half of my question.

So I called Pedro and he answered right away - He said - "newer than 04/2021 will be the redesigned pads"

I really wish customer service people could answer a 2 part question without needing a follow up call.
