I've just approached 46K km and the front pads are due for a replacement soon... The dealer quoted me a price for the front pads at $900 (offered a discount from $1,300). I haven't had any issues with the OEM Brembo pads but based on other threads, I'm looking to replace them with aftermarket pads.

I do a mixture of city and highway driving. I'm torn between the EBC yellow or red stuff. Looking for any feedback on the EBC pads and/or other recommendations.

Thanks all!

If you like the stock pads, centric posi quiet ceramics would be nice.

I actually just installed those for the back last weekend. But I’ve heard mixed reviews on them for the fronts... what pads are you running with?

I had stoptech streets from an evo x, they were fine but dusty. I'm running the posi quiets now. They are good and quiet

At 59,900'ish kms I had my 4th free replacement warranty rotors (all 4) installed by Kia. (pulsation again).

Same day - I installed Centric pads all around. (from Rock Auto)
It has been about 3000 kms so far - and everything is perfectly smooth, and silent, and similar to OEM friction performance for commuting. Pehaps these Centric pads would be bad at a racetrack - but this is my commuting car :)

Centric 105.10010 - front (generic -with no extra weights)
Centric 105.60410 - rear (vehicle specific - with weights) Does anyone know of a Centric pad part number (generic) that fits the rear?

This is my commuting car as well! Great detail on the OEM and centric pads. Unlike yours at ~60K km, my rear pads at ~46K km was down to the wear line, which shocked me....

Did you transfer the shims to the new pads as well or installed them as is?

If you order the centric posi quiet from tire rack for the g70 it comes with the weights

I did - But I do not think I needed to.
Shim2 in this image was transferred to the new pad. (cleaned first - then installed on new pad). Fit perfectly.

My rears wore out quicker than my fronts.
I did wait until the squeeler was - within about 0.1mm of the rotor (rear).

I transferred shim 2 when I installed by back pads as well. The OE spec had it so I thought there is no harm in doing so.

I've been trying to sort out if I should have moved "shim 2" to the new pads when I did mine. I just developed a squeal after 2 weeks or so.

that shim2 - is just a flat piece of thin stainless steel from my observations. Not sure how much it contributes to, or reduces, squeals. I see it more of a thermal barrier to shield some pad generated heat from reaching the brake pistons and ultimately the fluid (I am NOT an automotive brake system engineer)

I re-used them on my car - I did not view them as mission critical though.

I would've thought that the fronts would wear faster but the rears wore much faster. I'd be curious why that'd be the case for the Stinger.

I replaced mine with these, pretty happy. Came with all hardware.

Is your dealer covering his meth bill? $900 for pads?
