Stinger as a family car?

mdlavis2 - Premium gas is recommended not required. You may loose some HP, but my understanding is the engine sets the timing when it senses regular/lower octain gas.

Yes, most cars today can accommodate regular fuel if necessary including my '05 GTO, but it sure doesn't like it. I would caution against using regular as a "regular" habit in the Stinger with either engine. They just weren't engineered for that.

I'll be following this thread closely, I have an 8 month old and a Mazda CX-5 was at the top of the list until I read about the stinger last year. I really don't care to drive a (mid-sized) SUV daily if I can avoid it.

A test drive of the stinger only confirmed that the stinger really ticks all the boxes for me.

Anyone have a convertible seat set to rear-facing in the back of the stinger?

I wonder if the stinger can do 3 across seats (not that I need to at this stage.)

As for trunk space for the stroller, getting a compact stroller is cheaper and better than buying a large car just so you can shop at costco. Babyzen yoyo+ is meant for travelling, and it works perfectly well for urban trips.

Yes, I have a rear-facing carseat and there is plenty of room. It’s not fully reclined as my child is 1.5 yrs old now but I don’t anticipate any issues.

Also keep in mind there are only two sets of latch anchors so a third car seat in the middle would have to connect via the seat belt. I’m not optimistic about three across though—maybe by carefully selecting slim car seats it might work.

Using Mazda 6 as family car atm, love it, and plan to switch to Stinger this year. It looks better from all sides, so I think it will be great family car as well and sporty in the same time! :geek:

Welcome aboard, @Sypsy! Thank you for signing up. I could swear somebody here posted a picture of three baby seats in the back of the Stinger...

Great! I expected as much since it isn't a compact sedan. and 3 across isn't a dealbreaker, I plan to take my time with having kids.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Don't have kids, but I do drive my family (sibling + parents), so I guess it's a family car. Parents tend to hit their heads while getting in the car.

I have my wife and 9 year old daughter so a small family. The Stinger works fine as an everyday/ family car for me. My 9 year old fits in the back in her booster fine and, obviously my wife and I fit in front. I don't haul a lot of people around but I do haul my mountain bike and music gear. With the rear seats folded down, I can get my bike in the back if I take the front wheel off and I can fit all my guitar and bass amps/ gear in the car with ease. I'm waiting for someone to make a hidden hitch so I can put my bike on the back but in the mean time it works fine.

I like the looks and driving dynamics of cars. I refuse to buy an SUV/ CUV/ or minivan. One of the big selling points of the Stinger for me (beyond the styling/ performance/ value) was the versatility and utility of the liftback design. The car has as much cargo room as a small SUV and is very versatile for hauling cargo, people, or both. My wife has a Volvo V60 wagon and the Stinger has at least as much if not more cargo room.

I think you'll need to remove the tonneau cover to get a stroller in the back and be able to close the truck lid . the car is great .............take all your gear to a dealer and load it in to see if it fits ................. good luck ! Go Canucks ( they need it )
