I'm keeping my fingers crossed for November, too. I heard rumors that a dealership in the Kansas City area would be getting a show model "by the end of the month" - so hopefully within the next week or so. Hopefully that's a good omen for November release?

Hi everyone. My goodness has this place grown! As mentioned what seems like a year ago I was hoping the Stinger would be available to buy before I had to turn in my Optima lease. But the time had come and I turned it in today. So now I'm borrowing my brother's car until the Stinger comes to the US. I sure hope I don't have to wait until January like I've been seeing some people say. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for November.

Ack! Sorry about the lease issue but I'm glad your brother is nice enough to loan you his. If my sister ever asked me to loan her my car... in this particular case, I would be the tiny bulldog...

Well, so far, all the dealerships I have spoken to have been saying late October, early November. But then again, we know more about the car than dealerships do at this time. LOL I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Well, there is a showroom-only car in the Dallas area so there may be one showing up in Kansas City area soon and that these are the European versions. There's probably a limited number of these showroom-only cars and so they may shuffle these around until the US production models are available. I have my name on the 'CALL ME A.S.A.P' list of almost all the dealerships within a 3 hour's drive of me.

I guess you're right...I'm old school and still expect sales people to be the "expert" on their product, which rarely happens these days.

Gosh the last time I knew less about a car than the salesperson was going with my dad to buy a 1998 Chevy Malibu. At that point I cared so little about cars I didn't get why he wanted a V6 over the 4cyl because it was just a boring appliance to get to work with anyway. Weird because my room was covered with Corvette, Porsche and Lamborghini posters as a kid, I just had this gap from age 13-23 where I didn't care about cars.

No, it doesn't seem to be hundreds of KDM cars shipped out as demos. The EPA documentation I saw at a Tucson dealer listed about 90 VIN numbers as having been authorized to be in the US. It also appears that only selected Kia dealers got a demo.

A Kia salesman in NC expecting to get one told me yesterday only K900 dealers will get a demo and sell them, so yes it is selective based on Kias criteria.

I think only the K900 dealers will sale it, but will call this rep to confirm. Ironically, out of 5 dealerships I've inquired about the Stinger he was the only person to follow up with me AT ALL and more than once. Charlotte is 1.5 hours from me but I was willing to buy from him due to his customer service. I called the local dealer to see if they had and if so which model. The guy says, yeah it came in last week. I gave my # to 2-3 reps there - NO CALL.

The dealer search on the Kia website works for this. The results should indicate with an icon which dealer(s) sell/service the K900.

A bitter sweet moment.....

My local KIA dealer's website has been updated and plastered with a short Stinger video loop and background picutre. Frantically, I grabbed my phone and called them. "I see your website has been updated with a little Stinger action! Did you by chance get a showroom car? Can I come see it? Any further information?", reply, "No sir, we don't have any further information, nor have we gotten a showroom car, other than the short clip and background picture on our website. At least not that we can release yet."
