Stinger arrival date

Welcome aboard, @llhost! Thank you for signing up! January for floor model. :( Let's hope they still make it happen in November. I imagine it'll arrive sooner for some dealers and later for others. There must be some sort of priority model depending on sales success. In any event, ONE per dealership sounds insane. Insanely stupid. I hope that's not how this goes down. Unless this is some sort of marketing strategy that I'm not aware of - which is certainly possible...

The dealership that I spoke to mentioned that because of Hurricane Harvey, the initial allocation of Stingers for that region was going to be redistributed to other areas (including the northeast, where I am). It sounded logical to me, but we'll see.

TO ANYONE IN THE NJ NY AREA.

There is a Stinger display in Tenafly, NJ at a dealer. The rep there told me late oct early November is the date they were given for production. They have pricing estimates and specs but nothing is final.

I know the dealer....and I missed their call yesterday! Guess I know where I'm going tonight!

According to posts I keep seeing pop up on facebook from various Kia dealers, show room models are apparently out in full force in the east right now. I've seen dealers in NJ, Massachusetts, eastern PA, Florida, two different dealers in North Carolina, and a couple other spots post about the Stinger arriving in their showroom. I'm hoping the Midwest will quickly follow!

Just saw a showroom only model at Classic Kia in Carrollton (N Dallas). Red with red interior. Plugged into power so lights/hatch etc all works. Very nice build quality and mirrors everyone else's thoughts. Rear seat headroom is snug (I'm 6'0) but legroom is plentiful everywhere. Power hatch is impressively quick to open and close.

Dealer was vague on when they will start arriving but thought pre ordering would happen in next month. Assuming the shipping time they felt Jan would be soonest they would be ready for sale. And then Kia would push out random allotments to dealers prior to special order requests.

Damn it! If my weekend wasn't already booked doing the family thing, I would have taken the 3hr drive out this weekend to see it. And next weekend I start on call... for the month :(

Thanks. Guess I know where I'll be tomorrow...
I called my local dealership and they said "no one in north texas has it" ... and repeated that when i told them I heard Carrolton had it. :)
Not that I don't trust you, Mr.PersonOnTheInternet ( :) ) but i called up Classic Kia and I asked "I'm just confirming you have a stinger on site?" .. response: "A what now?"

Eventually I got a hold of sales who said he's sitting right next to it. Thanks for the lead. :)

Yeah, I've called my local dealerships and they still have no new news but I'm waiting for info back from Carrollton dealership as to what version the showroom car is. I might make the drive this weekend after all. If I do, I will take my DSLR with me and ask if they mind I take some high-res pictures :)

It's the 3.3 fully loaded version. Here are pics off their FB page. Believe me!! :-)

I'm near Carrollton too :)

Closer to Plano, though. I asked them to let me know when they get any Stinger info, and nothing yet.

Just visited it with the wife. It's nice. Great impression. The leather felt great. Looked great. Lots of space for a hatch in the back. The salesman mentioned it reminds him of an audi a7, and I agree. He said they should have some, or at least know final pricing by November. They put a seat controls for the passenger seat on the inside of the seat for the driver to control! (Perfect for making room for the kids getting in and out) Genius.

I'm planning on buying either this or the 2018 mustang early next year. Hard to decide.

I only got a picture of the engine.

The Kia dealership in McKinney also has one! It's going to the State Fair though.
I'll definitely check that out. I usually make it to the state fair most years, but this time there's extra motivation.

Ha, I got the same response, "I know there's not one in Charlotte NC" and then found out there is one at Dutch Miller Kia Charlotte. I called several dealerships this weekend in SC & NC and it was sad how many times I had to repeat the name of the car since the receptionist hadn't heard of it. This will be interesting trying to buy when you know more about the car than the person selling it.

So true! All I want now is the following:

*MPG for each engine
*Trim levels/option packages
*Pricing
*How much deposit is needed!

And then hope it makes it home for the holidays! ;-)

Hi everyone. My goodness has this place grown! As mentioned what seems like a year ago I was hoping the Stinger would be available to buy before I had to turn in my Optima lease. But the time had come and I turned it in today. So now I'm borrowing my brother's car until the Stinger comes to the US. I sure hope I don't have to wait until January like I've been seeing some people say. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for November.
