Hi all. Does any one know the part number for the oil filter cartridge? Also any information on any aftermarket vendor having these? Is this a dealer only part?

I have searched, Amazon, Ebay, google, and all I seem to find are filters for the 2.0.

@robz32 it is in the StingerGT@Me's video on how to do the oil change down in the DIY section.

K 26320 3LTA0

Quick search did not show anywhere with it in stock. Good luck!

@Falaris those were the same results I got when searching. I did watch the how to video.
I guess my inquiry was geared more towards the aftermarket options ie, K&N, Royal Purple, Mobil 1, etc.

Same. I have a dealer close by, so I went to pick it up.

I always change the motor oil and the filter at the 600 miles or 1000 Km in my new cars although it is not established by the maintenance sevice booklet......old and unnecessary habit, perhaps.
When my car was delivered to me at the dealer, I asked for the oil filter part number to the service manager. He told me the first motor oil and filter change, and the maintenance services each 5000km or 3 months, must be done at the dealer's workshop, for warranty matters.....:cautious:

Not sure how the warranty works in Mexico, but in the US, you can do the oil change yourself and the warranty will not be voided. Check your warranty information booklet, changing the oil yourself doesn't always void the warranty.

Grr. I found a site that sold the WIX filter earlier today, but can't find it. The cost was under $7. I'd just buy the filter from the dealer for $10, but not everyone has easy access, so I wanted to put the link up. Ah well. The dealer price seems reasonable to me, especially as it comes with washers for the drain plug. It's certainly the dirtiest looking oil change I've ever seen. Very strange to have an exposed filter on the bottom of the car...almost as bizarre as having the oil smack into a metal bar next to the plug. This is going to take a lot of prep, so much so, I called the dealer to ask what they would charge if I bought the filter and brought my own oil. They said $18, and that may be worth it, but I have to be able to watch them every step of the way. I don't want them making a mess of the underbelly or the panels.

Thank you so much, Moinmoin! I ordered the Fumoto from Amazon and it will arrive in 8 hours or so with free shipping. One benefit of being in Seattle is all the same-day or next-day delivery options. I didn't expect the Fumoto valve to be one of them, but it looks like I'll only have to do one super messy oil change. I'm going to wrap the area where the oil splats against the base with some plastic and towels I guess. That doesn't solve the oil filter mess issue, but I'll remove the panel and look at it to see what solutions I can surmise.

If you search that product number for the oil filter (26320-3LTA0) there are a lot of sites that are a few dollars cheaper. By searching the Genesis line, I was also able to find more 3rd party options easily at other auto stores too. Thanks again! Much appreciated.

You are welcome.
I did it on my first oil change and took it to my trusted mechanic and let him have the "honors". :)
On the hoist, the oil spills straight back with a nice arch. A large funnel would be useful. No real mess.
The pain is the panel, 6 bolts and a pin. First the bolts, then the pin in the center. Then you have to deal with the panel and put it aside.
We installed the valve so the oil stream is directed straight down. No arc.
I am now working on trying to replicate the oil filter access hole and cover under the Fumoto valve, to eliminate the handling of the panel and you could drop the oil with your index finger... :)

Yes, that's what I was thinking about, sorting out how small a hole I could make. I know that some people have talked about a more study aluminum option with a built in "door". It would not surprise me if someone made such a thing for the Stinger at some point, as they are made for other cars.

Good call on the funnel. That's a brilliantly simple solution. I'll just pick up one of those funnels-with-hoses for a couple bucks at AutoZone. My previous plan had been a garbage bag and gorilla tape. The funnel is much more elegant.

For the oil filter, did the dealer remove the panel, or just use the door? From the video I saw, oil splashed about on/around the panel.

I am going for years with both my vehicles to a local garage, and will continue doing so with the Stinger.
Of course, updates and recalls are handled by the dealer, but regular maintenance like oil changes, brakes etc. will be done by my guy.
I take the oil & filter to him and he puts the car on the hoist and does his thing. The valve and planned improved access are just for him to make it easier and faster.
After all, he only charges $20 for this. It's not worth it for me do it all by myself to save the 20 bucks.
Crawling around under the car, wiping the floor for any spills afterwards, getting rid of the oil at a garage after. These days are over for me. Been there, done it. :)
Going to my guy is so much easier. And you develop a relationship. You can look under the car and check for yourself to find anything amiss. Not something the dealer will let you always do, claiming insurance reasons.
If the engine light comes on, or there is any other indicator, he will give me immediate service and tell me whether it's a go or no go.
I suggest you do something similar.
There was no mess when he took the filter cartridge out. You drop the oil first of course, and then open the access to the filter and reach in.
He knows how to do it, but do I want dirty oil running down my arm? His position from below and straight up is probably better than anything you can achieve without a hoist.
Again, it's worth the extra bucks. Twice a year?

In a different thread, I mentioned that the Kia dealer's here charge $18 for an oil change, if you bring your own filter and oil. Goodness knows what those German companies would charge. If I trusted someone to do it properly, then it could be convenient. With my Saab, when I had my suspension replaced, I had the Saab shop change the oil while they were at it, but those are skilled people I trust, not random people at a dealership service department. Think of it this way, if the dealer is charging $18, then the people doing the work are making next to nothing, and won't be particularly invested in the job. If I had your guy in my neighborhood with a hoist, sure. In terms of time, though, it should take a lot less time for me to change the oil myself (and know it's done right) then it would to drive to the dealer and back--not including the job or any waiting. I also just got the car, so it's a bit of "bonding time" and I can peak under her skirt. With the Fumoto valve on (thanks again!), I won't have to worry about messes at dealers in the future either. This one, though, for sure, I feel it's best to handle myself. At my Saab dealer, any work they did on the car, I watched. If there is a Kia dealer that allows that, it would be great. I just generally don't feel comfortable with work being done on my car if I am not present.

Yeah the fumoto valve will make life a lot easier and less messy when changing the oil in the Stinger. I did it my self and it is pretty straight forward
Robz32, may I ask you which brand and viscocity engine oil and filter do you use in your Stinger?
Thank you
