3.3TT SSR Performance Dual Front Mount CAI - PRE-ORDER SPECIAL! (pics/vid inside)

Now for the the real decision to be made; Is it 2 plus times more performance for the cost not to mention the install cost for those of us not gear heads. I paid $85.00 to have the BMS CAI installed. Thanks
U paid 85$ for an easy install, u could have installed it ur self. Same with the k&n intakes easy install.

So the replacement tubing goes from the turbos to the pass-through piece, out and in front of the radiator, etc. Does it change the dimension of that pass-through somehow? Some folks have been speculating that area to be a restriction of air flow. Thanks!

@Kazz The dimensions of the pass-through remains unaltered.

Interesting, because some where saying that it's a pinch point and that open in the engine bay would get more air. I do like the concept of this CAI - but not if there's a restriction perpetuated with the design. Someone needs to measure the opening at the turbo and this opening and see if there's less area at the pass-through, I guess.

Well in all honesty I don't find the opening to be a big restriction for the factory setup, the openings provide enough air to feed the turbos once the factory snorkels are removed or replaced.

Hope that's the case. Would like to know for sure, though.

I don't think they're much of a restriction, either, at any rate they aren't the biggest choke in the intake system, if at all. While there may be some gain in trying to enlarge them..Keep in mind that there's two of them and nobody that is really pushing the car is saying airflow is a problem yet. I haven't followed Lap3's big turbo upgrade too closely but I've yet to see anywhere that they hit a restriction with airflow yet, it looks like they just slapped some filters right off the turbo and called it good.

Its a lot quicker. Only had it on for 2 days. Sounds like when someone sips soup when you floor it. Curious to see if any better gas mileage.
Only worried about when it rains afraid im gonna suck in a lot of water. But when I think about it those snorkels that you can buy to suck in air for the original air filter would suck in a lot more water since it is a big opening. I just curious to see. Let me know what you guys find out.

I purchased two dry chargers, guessed on the size, it was a tad too loose. I bought two more, hopefully they fit. They are quite amazing, i tested them out under the water faucet, and no water came through. This is the one I am trying next: K&N RC-4690DR Air Filter Wrap, Filter Wraps

Can u let me know if the next one u bought is the right fit for the intakes. I wanna put them on too as I do have these intakes as well.

Sure thing. However, I'm pretty sure that the one's that I listed are the correct size. I'll get them later on this week, but I'm not extremely motivated to pull my bumper off yet again...lol.

Hm. Haven't really looked at things up there. But maybe making the grill removable might make life easier with these intakes.

I just need to decide that I can part with that much money for a car's intake...

The cost of any other intake plus VT snorkels is pretty comparable. And if that isn't enough, go look at the cost of intakes for something German that's carbon fiber for some damn reason or for a car with a AMG or M badge on it. I'm not saying SSR's are cheap but it isn't completely unreasonable.

I appreciate your thoughts!

Cool in theory, but you also aren't sticking in much air at idle.

I installed them, they were a perfect fit. See my previous link. Pulled the bumper, put on the new covers and shot those pics in 23 minutes. It's really not that hard, I would consider myself a novice. See the pics below to see how they look.
