So I lost to a 2018 Mustang

Didn’t think I would need it. Now I wonder if it would really make a difference after cold starts. The computer controls it all.

I’m a Mustang guy, have always owned them and still own one. I’ve never had a car where the computer is in such control. Something I’ll need to learn.

If it is not at running temp they computer holds back boost and you are NA. All Hyundai/KIA do that. They also do it when the gas light is on.
 
Those coyote motors are no joke.

Brake boost it next time.

That's interesting, hadn't heard of that before. Kinda crummy because when you know you're gonna fill up soon because you don't have much left and the car is carrying less weight, that's the perfect time to go a little nuts!
 
I have a 2015 Mustang Gt PowerPack with a Procharger and it is an awesome car all around and comfortable for me and I am 5"9' and 310 pounds. I also have a 2012 BMW X5 that is a great car too but I worry about problems and the cost of maintenance I sunk some serious money already into the X5 and I worry daily about the next big bill. So even though I love both cars I want to go down to having one car payment, saving on insurance, and not worrying as much about maintenance and problems. I had my fun and now I want something fun but also reliable and a little more roomy for my kids. So saying this I am big fan of the Stinger and I am looking to get one myself.

Yeah 2018 Mustang is very capable two door GT. Not only is Mustang GT 10speed better at 1/4 mile but it outhandles Stinger as well. I think mustang from styling perspective looks more cohesive . stinger has some design elements that make car look a bit choppy meaning design elements don’t flow as well. Don’t get me wrong Stinger I looks awesome but I think Mustang pulls off better design flow from front to back.

It was tough call for me to not get 2018 mustang GT and to get Stinger GT2 RWD. However novelty of Stinger, it’s near concept car execution , 4 door hatch pushed me to Kia.

What’s not to like about mustang? Very well executed car. I know one of guys on suspension team - it has top notch suspension . Then there is mustang aftermarket compared to joke of aftermarket for the Kia.

Kia is smart to limit power when cold! Don’t want full boost in cold motor.
 
My brother has a 2018 GT (6 speed manual) that I've driven extensively.

I love it. The engine noise, the handling, the acceleration, the manual transmission. Ford nailed everything a Mustang should be.

Even with the manual transmission it'd be close in a 0-60 vs. my Stinger. It all comes down to the one shift the Mustang driver has to make.

The Stinger wins out in the practicality department, in terms of cargo space and seating four people comfortably. Better gas mileage. More luxury features. The lane assist in the Mustang is downright awful compared to my Stinger. I'm still trying to figure out the sound systems, but despite the Mustang having an overall lower wattage, it sounds incredible. Once I get mine dialed in it should be equivalent or better, but currently I prefer the one in the Mustang.

I don't have any regrets with my Stinger, but they're both amazing cars.

Hyundai also does that with their turbo cars.
 
Mustangs are so common I would feel like I was driving a rental... a FAST rental, but still the same.
 
And now with all failure reports of 2018 Mustang GT’s I’m glad I picked up Kia. Failed motors, failed transmissions, ill fitting body panels. Wow what a mess! Sad to see as Mustangs seemed to be decent in 2017.

Sort of amazing Stinger in its first year has had so few issues.

My v6 Mustang took down 2 Gt's this weekend at the strip..I guess it depends on the 6 ;)

Mustang gt is a v8. Not in same class. It beats a v6 mustang hands down.

The engine isn't why they're in different classes. The mustang is smaller, has half the doors, 20% less seats, smaller trunk, RWD only. If the Mustang had the exact same engine as the Stinger it would still be in a completely different class.
 
I bought my stinger because I haven't had this much fun in a v6 since the 87 grand national. Can't wait for more after market parts and kits.

I was talking engine size.
 
What is this ISG you speak of. I have yet to try launch control . I know you have to disable traction control , brake and put it to the wood and the RPM go to like 2000 rpm
