So I lost to a 2018 Mustang

What is this ISG (Idle Stop and Go) you speak of. I have yet to try launch control . I know you have to disable traction control , brake and put it to the wood and the RPM go to like 2000 rpm
If you look at your manual you will find the answers. Stop and go when activate switches of the engine when waiting at the lights and as soon as you press accelerator it starts again, excuse is it saves fuel.
Launch control gets you off the mark quicker but I would not advise doing it a lot.

Ok I know how to disable it below arm rest , I truely dislike that feature... When I race my Nephews RED Sport Q50 I will use launch control..

Can you permanently turn the idle stop and go off in the stinger?

Just turn it off. It stays off until you restart the engine. Another way is to put the shifter into manual gate. The ISG will stay off permanently. I wonder how this duel would have gone down, even with the Stinger not at operational temperature, if the acceleration had been from manual gate using the shifter or the paddle shifters, either one?

You can jam a tiny folded up piece of receipt into the edge of the button so that it stays down permanently. There’s a thread somewhere about that. You can also probably just remove the console and short the two wires together going to the switch for the same effect, but the button will never work again unless you pull the center console off and undo the wiring change. ;)

Eventually someone will probably give this option on an ECU firmware upgrade if they haven’t already.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
had an '06 mustang modified.......and I barely kept ahead of a well equipped maxima.........live axle had a lot to do with that night.

What drive mode was the OP in, or would that make difference? (not an owner myself, yet)

I was in Sport mode. I tested the “cold” run the other day and while in Sport, it’s like being in eco mode AND having less boost. Even if I had used launch control, I wouldn’t have gone anywhere since the Stinger wasn’t warmed up enough.

eco takes that much out of the peddle?? I mean so its noticeable? I ran it on the highway (eco)..but thats been it , just commuting to work no highway...barely hit 40 mph to be honest.and I been using comfort mostly, been in sport a few times.

It does, unless you put your foot down fast and far; then the motor wakes up by downshifting vigorously. It is always impressive no matter what drive mode you are in, when you demand acceleration. The difference is that the drive mode determines RPM peaks between gears. And in Eco it wants to upshift quickly to reduce RPM. In Sport it holds the gear well into the upper RPM range before shifting up. Of course, if you insist on using the manual shifters the drive mode basically goes away and the car turns itself over to you. The GT1 has a manual gate which bypasses everything permanently while it is engaged. Then you get to "drive the damn car [and] stand it on its bloody ear!" :D

Thanks,
