So I installed Borla exhaust

Even with the tips on mine, I still get a burble off-throttle. I imagine though that it's probably a little more reduced than yours. Also, after a month with the exhaust, I still haven't put sound deadening in the trunk area. I'm going back and forth on if I really want to do that, leaning more towards leaving it alone. Then again, I haven't installed the ARK downpipes, so I may wait until I put that on.
I get a loooot of burbles. I can be in ECO mode, in drive , driving through my neighborhood, and let off the gas and coast at 20ish and it will loudly burble all the way until I'm nearly stopped. Does yours still burble that much?

Mine does burble regardless of drive mode. Though noticeable, I don't think it's as loud though (from the inside) as yours since I have aftermarket tips. Now I'm curious how loud those burbles are for you. :)

I'm curious how the AliExpress tips are holding up for people that have had them for some time now. Still in good shape?

I've had mine for nearly two months. So far, it seems to be holding up.

Mine are holding up well also, but I'm garage kept with only a few k miles put on. I think I'm approaching a year.

Hi,

I also went with Borla and I'm really happy. In the first days I didn't care about droning, but after some long highway drives it started to bother me. Listen to music or talking with my wife or kids wasn't that easy anymore. And for the kids in the back it was even worse.

So I started searching for a solution, maybe new tips or soundproofing the trunk. But I also read somewhere that the problem could be caused by the Borla exhaust being shorter than the factory one and not reaching into the tips. In order to test this and not wanting to take down the exhaust and do some welding, I bought some silicone couplers (temperature resistant 260°C) and attached them with some metal clamps. The result was fantastic, I would say that there's no droning left and the sound in the cabin was reduced with 80%.

These are the silicone couplers:

And this is the result (sorry for the dirty car):

Thats basically the same as the clamp on exhaust tips lol. But its cheaper, il give you that.

hmm, good solution. wonder if the temps will eventually get to those things though. In other news, I've now been to the track 4 days, and the Ali Express Carbon Fiber tips have some discoloration from the heat. They are still holding up otherwise though.

Hey Guys, had the borla with after market tips on for close to 2 years now. Went with the stainless steel option, which was not super wise as the stainless steel gets over 200C (400F) which instantly started melting the bumper. Replacement black lower bumper trim was about 430$ AUD from Kia installed (about 300 USD). Getting it replaced and going with the carbon fibre tips instead, as there is the additional material to prevent heat spreading a little bit where as with stainless steel, it gets up to 250-300C directly on the plastic, which was bad. Melting wasn't so bad at first, but after 2 years and multiple track days, the system moved around and melted the entire area. Just at bit of feedback if anyone goes down this path.

The stainless steel discolours and goes an off yellow colour too, which is annoying having to clean.

I have the Ali-express tips cheap carbon fiber on mine and they have held up pretty well, but the carbon fiber is yellowing some. it did not do that until I started tracking the car. excessive heat is just too much. But structurally they are holding up well. They still look decent, just not as great as when new. for the price they are good.

Awesome, I don't mind yellowing some, just the melting looks like shite  Had any melting on yours?

no melting. One tip barely touches in one spot but it's been all good. the other three tips are pretty well centered.
