So I installed Borla exhaust

There's a number of tip recommendations, but for me, I went with oval slanted tips (in carbon fiber), 51mm inlet, 105mm outlet. It fit perfecty. You can get rounded tips, but you may have to some dremeling to the space for them to fit. View attachment 61798

Bottom line, any set of aftermarket tips that attach to the pipes directly should help. I installed the tips when I installed my Borla, so I don't know how it sounds with the stock tips, which don't attach directly to the exhaust. If after install you still don't like the sound, it's likely the resonation at low rpm (it's not drone) coming from the trunk. You can reduce the noise by putting sound deadening in the trunk. I have a set that I plan to put in at some point, but been lazy, and I'm mostly fine with the sound.
That far left tip?

the official Borla tips don't do anything other than burn a hole in your wallet. aliexpress clamp on tips is what you want for drone reduction.
Cool thanks!

The one that's slightly low? Heh, you noticed that too? :p Yeah, I need to adjust that.
I was actually worried about the same thing today when checking out how tips would fit. The Borla system seems to sit a little low on the far left pipe. It looks like it might even be too low to allow a tip from the pipe to the pass through the rear. The other 3 look fine, albeit the far right is slightly low(Not as bad as the left). Are we bending pipes to get around this?

mine was a mess at first as far as alignment too. my mechanic loosened up some of the connections, and I sort of twisted the muffler a bit until everything was lined up pretty well, then he tightened the clamps back up. alignment was fine after that. Maybe not perfect but good enough. no pipe bending necessary.

The pipes had no problems clearing the openings. I didn't see how they looked without the tips as I was under the car while a friend helped line them up. Now it makes me wonder if that far left pipe is lower than the others.

The left one is definitely a bit low. I will take a picture tomorrow when I have more light. I'm sure it's something my brother(Mechanic) and I can realign if needed.

Yeah, when you get a chance, please do take a pic!

There's also chrome slanted available from Aliexpress 105x75mm i think the inlet measurement is 51mm. Had mine on the Borla for 3-4 months, zero drone exceeded my expectations.

I've tried looking at Aliexpress. I'm having such a hard time finding anything that would work. There is SO much stuff on there and none of it looks appropriate so far.

I was pretty picky, there's alot of options! I settled on the oval carbon fiber set.

Thanks for posting the pics. Yeah, that far left pipe is probably bent the same way as yours. Not sure why it was designed like that. I think when I get my Ark DP installed (decided I'm not installing that on my own), I'll have them bend that pipe slightly.

The search functionality on there is abhorrent. I try to search for oval carbon fiber exhaust tips and after several pages of non-oval tips, I start seeing hair and nail stuff. How does anyone use this terrible site??? Can you possibly link me what you have so I can check them out and leap frog to other similar products from there? I'd appreciate it!

Jig fixture probably got changed by accident is my guess why its like that.

I had the same issue with the Borla catback. My guy had to do a bit of finicking and work with it to fit properly... still not aligned perfectly... but oh well... very surprised Borla would sell something like this since their brand name is huge... love my catback sound though! :D

What's more, I've heard that Borla typically has the most precise fits. Not in this case I guess.

No love for the 2/2.5L models? I have a invidia q300 exhaust on the G. Very nice mild upgrade to stock. Just loud enough to hear it around town, but got louder when you put your foot into it.

Update....I've started to appreciate the low rpm rumble :) I don't think I will put tips on after all. Plus.... I get TONS of burbles when off throttle at low rpm, it literally sounds like it has a burble tune, I love it. I came from a Camaro SS 6 speed(burble monster) and the Stinger now burbles more than that did. I'm worried if I put tips on, the resonating burbles will be reduced, if not eliminated completely. Can anyone with the Borla give their opinion on that?

Even with the tips on mine, I still get a burble off-throttle. I imagine though that it's probably a little more reduced than yours. Also, after a month with the exhaust, I still haven't put sound deadening in the trunk area. I'm going back and forth on if I really want to do that, leaning more towards leaving it alone. Then again, I haven't installed the ARK downpipes, so I may wait until I put that on.
