Absolutely agree with your point of view. If the color combo I want had been available at the time it came out, I would have bought anyway, and then been a bit disappointed at the stuff I hadn't gotten.. I've even come close to buying a not-my-first-choice combo, but the 360º cam is a must-have, for a couple of reasons I've discussed elsewhere.

It is absolutely fabulous value. I'm fortunate price is not a factor, but I'd still rather buy the Kia - and have my GF comment on how much nicer it is than her Mercedes!! lol..



Sounds spot-on to me..

If I were a blue owner with craters around my car, I wouldn't be stressing too much, it'll get taken care of sooner or later..

It's kinda relieving to see that things are moving for the Yellow owners, despite the quality issues seen by the creator of this thread. It's looking like some kind of agreeable solution will be made available. I have a Nov 17 Blue, but haven't seen issues -yet-. Grand total of one chip, which is well deserved (Gouged plastic under the chip, ow).

Here's to hoping Kia starts lumping other owners with paint issues into the Yellow pool and makes things right for all those affected. I'm obviously hoping nothing needs to be done to my car, but time will tell.

Unbelievable (not you, the fact that this occurred at all). Is this a commonplace thing? I don't see a need for clear coat on the underhood. But a full coating of paint is absolutely required. How many Stingers scrimp on the seldom seen areas? (trunk, underhood, lower inside of doors, gas lid)?

Removed the under hood sound material and found limited paint...check there and advise.

For my case, i am still waiting confirmation from Linda as well on whether or not i can proceed to buyback immediate. This thread now appears to confirm that as i spoke with her early last week.

I love the color of this car but cannot, in principle, keep it knowing other paint issues may crop up down the road. I have full PPF on the car and will be seeking re-imbursement for that along with my IR tint both installed on day 2 of ownership.

Knowing all 400 were not sold does tempt me to keep this but without a full metal repaint i just cant do it.

Only way for me to keep this is for Kia to up the amount of the goodwill in order to satisfactorily cover down road items...i dont see them going for this option even though it will be a cheaper option for them in the end...versus having to buy my car back with taxes and fees and extras.

Wrong thread but micro blue gt2 with red (or the "atlantica" brown) napa and the 360 cam. No blue gt2 it seems.

With the dec 1 deadline I think it is smart to wait until closer to the deadline as it will most likely allow us get a 2019 instead of a 2018 model as replacement if you choose that option. I will be scheduling my appt for the middle of oct to be finished by nov 1st allowing my full 30 days to make a decision before the dec 1st deadline.

The one concern I’d have is; what if the new paint job doesn’t match the plastic, the bumpers. Are your only options the buy out or trade in? They won’t make it match?

You think they are going to give you a car back that doesn’t match? They paint car parts all the time in accidents and what not ... they will repaint if it doesn’t match because I won’t accept it . They screwed up not us

Yea I told you earlier today I quoted you and said I’m in Farmington .. I went through Luther as I don’t like belzers .. never been quoted a good deal there

Yea got the yellow gt back in April...

That invoice is from 7/17 so this is not the same warranty package as the yellow? Is that correct?
