Hi all. I purchased a Rschip tuning chip for my GT2 and installed it yesterday. After working through some installation hiccups it seems to be working, the engine appears to be putting out more power. They say I need to drive 120 miles for it to fully take effect, which I should accomplish today. The phone app is simple and provides four preset choices: Sport, Sport Plus, Eco and Stock. This is the link in case you are not familiar with the product: Chiptuning for you, +20% power and torque – RSchip chiptuning

Does anyone else have any experience with this product? Thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Looks similar to racechip except a lot cheaper.

And the phone app is free. I also like the fact that it is no fuss to remove when bringing it to the dealership, etc.

Looks nothing like racechip. This thing plugs into the obd port and that's it .. Lol

I'm not convinced it can control a whole lot from my understanding of tapping into the Canbus via the obd2. It definitely does not increase boost (they state it attempts to communicate with the ecu to control fuel and timing only on their FAQs page)..

Could have found a second hand jb4 for the same price maybe?

If your butt dyno can tell a difference then awesome for you though.

No dyno to play with. Seems to rev higher when in Sport Plus mode - appears to stay around 3,500-4,000 RPM's when I take my foot off the accelerator. In Eco, the MPG seems to be a couple of miles higher, but I am still playing with the new toy and cannot be definitive about it yet.

My mistake, I thought racechip was just an ODB2 plugin too.

Having OBD II only connection is a compromise, I agree. Just that my car has been going to the dealership for service a lot and I want to be able to remove it quick and easy.

As an aside, I had to replace driver side weatherstripping, and my second TPSM has allegedly gone kaput. The dealership tried to avoid warranty coverage, but premium care took care of that. Still driving around with a malfunctioning tire pressure monitoring system. Got to bring the car back next week to change the second TPSM.

Looks a scam product if only attached to OBDII, as no OBDII reflashing options exist for the Stinger currently. Hope you're able to get your money back when you realize it's not doing anything.

NYLA if it doesn't snap your head back and lay down some rubber ,,,and if you gotta think bout whether its werkin you aint got nuthin......get a JB4 and quit pretending....lol :) Wash

Just to be clear:
Neither this company, nor their product is related to RaceChip in any way.
I don't know who is operating this website, but the support email address is a gmail address and in the car selector they write "поиск" which is Russian for "search".
Always do your research before you order from companies you don't know.

Just to be clear, the product is called Rschip, not race chip and the distributor is in Little Rock Arkansas. The chip died on me yesterday, so I'll be in touch with customer support and probably return it for a refund.

Probably?

What are your other thoughts?

Going to call them and see what they have to say.

They are sending me another unit This is what they said about their product:

The chip replaces temporary memory not permanent memory. It is intercepting signals and changing their values. It changes the calculated fuel delivery and timing values in the temporary memory at up to 256 load points. This is the best way to explain it without giving away proprietary information. The chip does work, and a money back guarantee is offered whereas a scam chip wouldn't offer that.

Said the scammers.

Probably it sends a reset timing and fuel adaptions command over and over again or something similarly insane, if it's doing anything at all. Mail it over to me and I can log the CANbus command directly on it and tell you exactly what it's doing and why that won't actually add any power. :)

Try to get your money back.
