I've read many forum posts and comments about the lack of quality Kia applied to the Stinger. Issues range from the exterior to the interior and parts in between. IMHO, it's hard for a car brand to meet the quality levels of what's been designed and computer simulated. But that's no excuse and I anticipate as the Stinger matures, an amount of quality improvements and fine tuning will be applied.

If the Kia survey I completed over the weekend about my Stinger is any indication of the desire to improve, I look forward to seeing what happens next.

Kia is not alone. Even cars that've been around for decades get dinged on quality. The MotorTrend article, What the Mid-Engine Corvette Must Learn from the C7 Corvette Stingray, specifically calls out issues I've read about on StingerForum. Issues I've never perceived for a highly visible and instantly recognizable car like the Corvette. It's a good read just for perspective.

Is the Stinger perfect? Nope. However, its proximity to perfect is good and it should get progressively closer with each new model year.

As a process improvement engineer, I can see the hallmarks of a manufacturer who is fully engaged in process improvement, Quality Assurance and Quality Control. What a pity that the dealers are outside that loop. I keep kicking around making an offer to the dealer who sold me a Stinger to volunteer to work for them for free for one month, leading a (Service) process improvement project team that at the end of a month will be able to document the improvements made, their effect on the customers and the cost savings attained. Just because if I can talk them into doing it, I will get the benefits of an improved service process.

Well the interesting fact that I have not experienced ABSOLUTELY NONE of the problems I have heard for the past 2 years. Im I lucky or something??? o_O

Your use of a double negative means the opposite of what you intended to say. Just letting you know. Tonight I can't let it pass. :p

I may be lucky, too, but I feel blessed.

Hard to say that inconsistent quality (control) is lucky. Clearly there are Stinger owners experiencing issues, while others, like you, drive hassle free. Kia will either take the necessary steps to improve the car or allow it to die on the vine and focus more on their successful models. They’ll do the right thing.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
